Our correspondent gathered that Anyim came back home following his release on Tuesday afternoon after his lawyers perfected all the bail conditions imposed by the commission against him.
It could be recalled that the anti graft agency on last Sunday invited Anyim over the financial diversion in relation to the ongoing trial of former Minister of Aviation and Lawmaker representing Anambra North in the Senate, Stella Odua who recently defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from the PDP.
The PDP family has been rejoicing since Anyim's release, but the ruling APC in the state described it as a show of shame.
The APC Publicity Secretary in the state, Comrade Simbad Chidi Ogbuatu made the comment while interacting with newsmen in Abakaliki.
According to Ogbuatu, "Ebonyi PDP is publicly celebrating corruption and impunity."
He stressed: "One question any good Nigerian needs to ask himself is; is it a good thing to be arrested by the nation's Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC? No matter what; the answer is no. This is because being arrested by the EFCC raises a very serious moral question on the arrested public officer which he needs to clear himself from and restablish his innocence before he can restore the confidence of the people in him.
"It should also be noted that granting bail to an accused person is not the same thing as being discharged and acquitted by a court of competent jurisdiction.
"Therefore, celebrating an accused who has not been cleared by the court is tomfoolery.
He recalled that in a penultimate week, the ex-SGF Anyim, was arrested and grilled by the EFCC in connection with the ongoing probe of a former Aviation Minister, Sen. Stella Oduah.
Ogbuatu explained that "the arrest and interrogation was based on N780m out of a lump sum allocated to a rehabilitation project in Oduah's Ministry allegedly traced to a company in which Senator Anyim has interest."
He argued that, hence, the entire scenario is tied to the corruption and money laundering case involving former Aviation Minister and serving Senator Stella Oduah, his supporters from the opposition party in the state should have not started celebrating a case not yet buried by the court of competent jurisdiction.
"On Tuesday 26th October, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim was released on bail and Ebonyi PDP members started rejoicing as they treated him to a rousing welcome.
This is a man who has a case of diverting N780m being part of rehabilitation funds to a company he has interest and who is yet to clear himself of the allegation and his party members, including lawyers are jubilating because he is taken on bail. What a shame!
"If only the Ebonyi PDP members who are celebrating the corruption and impunity of Anyim understood what it meant for one person to corner N780m of our collective wealth all to himself, they would have appreciated how foolish they are, celebrating the same person for being granted bail.
"This also affirms that the PDP is synonymous with corruption. Otherwise how can party members be rejoicing, playing the gong, drums, cymbals, etc in celebration of a man that has so impoverished them? Can these people mention just one thing Anyim did for the Southeast all through his years as Senate President and as Secretary to the Government of the Federation?
"None. He cornered and pocketed all moneys meant for the good of our people and still engaged in forceful seizure of people's land here and there as if he wanted to own the whole world. This is the greedy and corrupt character Ebonyi PDP is celebrating in the streets.
"Indeed, Ebonyi PDP members have lost all sense of morals and morality and this is disgusting!
"With this praise of folly and celebration of criminality, the world can now see how PDP encourages corruption and impunity in Public Office and afterwards turn round to accuse leaders of enriching themselves and abandoning the masses to pain and pang away in agony and penury.
"It is unfortunate. It is more unfortunate that it is this same PDP that looted the country dry that wants to come back to power. It will never be allowed to happen again because any repeat performance will spell total doom for Nigeria.
"When evil people gather to destroy, good people must unite to thwart their plans.
"It is for this reason that we call on the good people of Ebonyi State irrespective of party affiliations to rise to the occasion and checkmate the return of these vampirish personalities to power or anyone of their sponsored conduits.
"We must ensure that these monsters are retired permanently from active politics so that our dear state and indeed our country will have peace."
