Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, an APC Chieftain has expressed worry over the demise of one High Chief Gabriel Onu from Ebonyi State .
Eze in his condolence message made available to NATIONAL PANEL on Thursday described late Chief Onu as a distinguished illustrious son of Ebonyi State, who was known for his positive impacts in the society.
According to him, "High Chief Gabriel Onu is a respected, detribalised, innovative, exemplary philanthropist, a great father and outstanding and one of the finest Leaders from Umuobuna in Uburu, a town of great personalities and exceptional leaders.
"This enigma, a detribalised Nigerian and President Emeritus of Igbo Cultural Association Lafia the State capital of Nasarawa State, Ex-Chairman, Umunwoshibe Kindred, Ex-Chairman, Umuobuna Family Union and was anointed a High Chief by the Uburu Ezes-In-Council to represent the Umuobuna village.
"The last time I was with this colossal, iroko and classical leader of our time was during the burial of my aunt who was recently buried and he was hale and hearty then so the news of his death on 28th September, 2021 through my kind brother Mr. Okoro Enakwachi came to me and family as a rude shock.
"As much as I have no power to question God why he should call him at this period, my prayer is for God to grant his gentle soul eternal rest and to those of us he left behind the fortitude to bear his departure.
"Frankly speaking, his death is a heavy blow to all sons and daughters of Uburu Town particularly the Umuobuna village; I therefore consemurate with all Ebonyians particularly those of us from Uburu hoping that we shall meet him not to depart from him anymore during the coming of Christ.
"In this regard, I pray that we set up a Committee comprising all the kindred Units in Umuobuna to accord this giant a befitting burial considering all his sacrifices to make Umuobuna better than he met it."
