The Executive Chairman of Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Barr Clement Odah on Thursday inaugurated the town union leadership of Ukwagba Autonomous Community at the council headquarters, 135, Ezzamgbo.
Odah who congratulated the newly inaugurated officials of the town union led by Mr Moses Eze Itumo as their President, charged them to be working together in line with the state government policy especially in promoting peace and unity among the community people.
He also advised the new town union officials to work with their traditional ruler to ensure absolute peace, security and harmony in their community in line with the vision of Governor David Nweze Umahi's led administration.
The Council Chairman noted that the State Executive Order 002 of 2021 contains a laid down rules and the community's constitution which the town union officials would be operating with accordingly.
In his acceptance speech, the Town Union President of Ukwagba Community, Mr Moses Eze Itumo expressed joy over their successful inauguration and pledged to work according to the directives of the local government chairman.
He also applauded the leadership of Governor David Umahi and assured that the confidence reposed in them would be sustained for the growth and development of their community.
NATIONAL PANEL reports that the inauguration took place shortly after an enlarged security meeting conveyed by the Council Chairman with the Coordinators of Development Centres, other political appointees, traditional rulers, town union presidents, village heads, leaders of security agencies including Ebubeagu Security men among others to evaluate the council's performance in its security of lives and property.
Odah who described security as the biggest challenge in the country today, promised that his leadership would continue to borrow leaf from the governor of the state by employing proactive spirit in tackling security issues in the area.
He thanked God that the security reports coming from different corners of the council were commendable and thus, urged the community stakeholders to sustain the tempo by consolidating the peace and security of life in the area.
Interacting with newsmen, the Coordinator of Effium Development Centre, Hon. Sunday Agbo commended the Local Government Chairman on his proactive measures to ensure security of lives and property in the area, saying the Chairman has indeed exemplified Governor Umahi's leadership style in building peaceful communities across the council.
