The newly-floated Football Club of the Ebonyi government, the Salt City FC is to commence its inaugural screening exercise in Abakaliki from October 27.
The disclosure was contained in a statement signed by the club's Acting Team Manager, Felix Odionye.
Odionye in the statement, said that the screening exercise to be held inside the Pa Ngele Oruta stadium, would be in four phases.
"The screening exercise is to select good players in preparation for our debut appearance in the national league's 2021/22 football season.
"The first phase of the exercise will last from October 27 to November 6 with players from the five local government areas of Ebonyi south sentorial zone, commencing on October 27
"These LGA's include: Ohaozara, Onicha, Ivo, Afikpo North and Afikpo South as the exercise will hold from 12 to 4 pm," he said.
The team manager in the statement, said that from November 1-3, players from Ebonyi central zone of Ikwo, Ishielu, Ezza North and Ezza South LGAs will hold theirs from 12 to 4pm.
"Players from Ebonyi north senatorial zone of Abakaliki, Izzi, Ebonyi and Ohaukwu LGA's will be screened from November 4 to 6 between 10am--1pm.
"Open and final screening will hold from November 8 to 13 from 9am to 1pm.
"This final screening is for selected players from the three zones and exceptional ones from other states.
He noted that from November 22, training and engagement of the team in friendly matches would commence.
"This is to adequately prepare the team for the challenges of the forthcoming football season.
"The players are however, expected to take care of their personal needs during the screening exercise.
