The South East Watch has called for the immediate removal of NEMA Coordinator, South East Zone, Mr. Major Eze for diverting and selling the relief materials procured by Federal Government for the Internally Displaced Persons, IDP and Flood victims in the Zone.
The Director, Watch, Dr. Okezie Uzor made the call while briefing news men in Enugu.
Dr. Uzor, alleged that the materials were diverted and sold by the NEMA Coordinator, South East Zone, Mr Major Eze and used the proceeds to acquire property at Abuja and Lagos.
He described the act of Mr Eze as inhuman and arrogant, insisting that his act has not only sabotaged the efforts of President Muhammad Buhari but further subjected the victims to untold hardship.
The Watch Director therefore, called on the Director-General, NEMA, to as a matter of urgency investigate the unholy act of Mr. Eze and bring him to book to serve as deterrent to others.
According to Dr. Uzor, it is worrisome that a man employed by Federal Government with the responsibility of addressing the needs of vulnerable in the society turned to be a dog that eat the bone hung on it neck.
The Watch Director also warned that failure by NEMA to act within three days, it would take legal action against the South East Zonal Coordinator, Mr. Major Eze and the NEMA.
