It was a moment of unlimited joy as the family of the former Caretaker Chairman of Amachi Unuphu village, in Amegu Community of Abakaliki Local Government Area, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Igwe Nwachukwu, dedicated their twin babies for administering of infant baptism at St. Immaculate Conception Parish Nkwegu, Abakaliki.
While administering the sacrament of baptism, the Parish Priest and officiating Minister, Rev. Fr. John Paul Eselu, appealed to both the parents and those who sponsored the babies in the baptism to always guide the infants to the right path and never to allow the light which has been trusted under their care to be blown off, stressing that children are precious gift from God which must be guarded jealously.
Rev. Fr. Eselu who emphasized the importance of Eucharist and liturgical icons in commemoration of Jesus Christ and the Church, observed that people were yet to fully imbibe the culture of naming their children after those symbols artifacts, and phenomenal realities held at high esteem by the Catholic Church.
He advised parents to reconsider such unpopular names like Eucharistia, Blessed, Divine, among others while naming their children instead of relying solely on the names of popular saints.
In an interview, Comrade Izuinya Thomas and Mr. Mbam Cyril, the sponsors and spiritual fathers of the baptized infants, Little Master Blessed Chibuzor Paul Nwachukwu and Little Master Godswill Chiemerie Paul Nwachukwu respectively, thanked God for such remarkable day, and asked God to give them the grace to live a life worthy of emulation so as to ensure proper mentorship of the babies and to always toe the right paths according to the teachings of Jesus Christ and the doctrines of the Catholic faith.
In their vote of thanks, the parents of the lovely babies, Mr. Paul Igwe Nwachukwu and his amiable wife, Mrs. Igwe Veronica Onyinyechukwu, expressed gratitude to God for blessing them with the fruits of womb and prayed that those who are seeking that similar favour from God should be blessed with same, while thanking the sponsors and every other persons who abandoned their individual engagements to come and share in their joy for happiness never to depart in their various families in Jesus name.
