The Worldwide Christian Mission, WCM, has awarded one year scholarship to thirty six best performing students of community secondary school, Izhiogo in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
The International President and Founder of WCM from United States of America, Prophetess Dr Roxanne Russ, explained that the scholarship was designed as the part of effort to assist the education of the indigent students in the rural areas of Ebonyi State at the school premises.
She expressed gladdenness over the performance of the students which according to her, earned them the award, and however charged them to do more to continue making both their parents and the institution proud.
"There's something inside you and you can do more to make your parents and this school proud, you have to continue performing excellently.
"So, don't allow what you see around to spoil you. What you will do is to stay away from such and God will immensely surprise you, the efforts in your studies," she said.
Prophetess Russ also said that the one year scholarship would be extended depending on the performance of the beneficiaries and urged the students to give their lives to Christ to succeed.
Earlier, the coordinator African Study Centre, Professor Onodugo Ifeanyi Chris, urged the students to be disciplined and more serious with their studies to enhance their future.
On his part, the Izzi traditional ruler in Lagos State, HRH Eze Cyprain Nwekee, Eze Izhi Gbirim, commended the WCM for the gesture, and urged the students to be focused and determined to be the best in their studies.
The Dean of the school, Mr Edmund Ekeugo commended the worldwide Christian Mission for giving the students the scholarship award and assured that they would not disappoint them.
While hosting the team in his palace, Eze Cyprain Nwekee conferred Nne-Oha I of Izhi land on Prophetess Roxanne Russ and Ogbankpu I of Izhi land on Professor Onodugo Ifeanyi Chris.
