The Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State Chief Eric Kelechi Igwe has commended his principal, Governor David Nweze Umahi over his readiness to run for the 2023 presidency.
Igwe gave the commendation, Wednesday, following Governor Umahi's declaration to contest the presidential position after consulting President Muhammadu Buhari in Aso Villa, Abuja.
He said that Governor Umahi's courage to declare his interest in the 2023 Presidential race remains laudable.
Igwe also described Umahi as a credible, acceptable and capable candidate to front for the post of President considering his wealth of experience, disposition, antecedent, prowess, approach in solving issue and tentacles.
He added that the myraid challenges facing Nigeria as a nation would be tackled by Governor Umahi if given opportunity to lead the country in 2023.
He emphasized the need for all the zones in Nigeria to throw their support collectively behind Southeast to become the next President, stressing that such will enthrone peaceful coexistence, harmony, love, equality and dwarf the agitation for secession.
He however enjoined all the leaders of APC in the Southeast not to be driven by personal interest but throw their weight behind Gov Umahi who has all it takes to be successor of President Muhammadu Buhari.
"Governor Umahi is a pragmatic leader who has proven that if given opportunity to govern Nigeria judging from his developmental strides in Ebonyi State, he would reposition Nigeria and revamp all the sectors," he said.
