The Economic and Financial Commission, EFCC, has detained the Director General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), Mr. Osita Okechukwu for having allegedly abused his office, NATIONAL PANEL gathered.
According to the Cable report, Okechukwu was reportedly arrived at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja around 1:30 pm on Saturday, following his invitation by the commission for his alleged case of conspiracy, abuse of office and misappropriation of public funds.
It was also gathered that Okechukwu was accused of embezzling N1.3 billion and now in the EFCC custody for interogations.
He was still in EFCC custody when this report being filled.
The DG's invitation by the commission was confirmed by Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC spokesperson, but however, declined further comment to explain why he was invited.
