The wife of Ebonyi State Governor Chief (Mrs) Rachael Umahi, has paid a visit to the 2022 first baby in the State at the Alex-Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki, and donated gifts including food items others to the baby and her Mother.
She appreciated God for the gift in the family and prayed God to continue to guide and protect the baby and the family.
According to mrs Umahi “We thank God Almighty for what he has blessed us with on the first day of 2022. It is a victorious year for us,” she said.
The Governors wife, however, extolled management Staff of the hospital for their efforts in championing the course of safe delivery among pregnant women in the State and enjoined Ebonyi Women to always go for antenatal care to curb maternal and child death in the State.

represented by the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee, Dr Richard Ewa said that the baby is a female, born at 1:55am, weighed 3.0Kg at birth and was delivered through normal delivery.
He applauded Mrs Umahi for her continuous benevolence to women and children in the state and pledged to intestify efforts in ensuring safe delivery of Women at all times.
The Head of Nursing Services, Lady Gertrude Ejem described the current facilities installed in the hospital, by the state government as second to none in the Country, describing the visit of Mrs Umahi as a welcome development.
Also, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Daniel Umezuruike said that children born on this special day turn out to be great personality in the society.
Meanwhile, Mother of the new born baby Mrs Pascaline Ihegboro, expressed warm appreciation to the governor’s wife, praying that God will continue to bless her family.
The Governor's Wife was accompanied to the visit by the Wife of the State Deputy Governor Mrs. Ethel Nnenna Igwe, female executive Council Members, Commissioners, Council chairmen and many others.
