Hon Chukwu Arinze Lucas, a member representing Ishielu South in Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon Chukwu Arinze Lucas, Wednesday extolled Governor David Nweze Umahi for his victory at the Court of Appeal and assured him of his total support as he energetically pursues his presidential ambition.
Chukwu who pledged allegiance while interacting with newsmen in Abakaliki, said, the state government had done a lot with the meagre resources available in Ebonyi state and maintained that Umahi as a man with vision if given support would return the country from its lost glory.
"So far so good, His Excellency the Governor of Ebonyi state has done beyond imagination as he has touched every sector and department.
"We will not take our eyes away from the fact that those things people think can't be achieved have become reality courtesy of the workaholic governor.
"A lot has been done including roads, the airport that's almost on completion, the international market, a world-class shopping mall and countless other projects," Chukwu said.
The Lawmaker while enumerating Umahi's achievements to his constituency, said, his people have tasted the true dividends of democracy since the beginning of the administration.
He appreciated the people of Ishielu south for their support to ensure that peace is enthroned in the area.
"In my constituency, we are proud to have the Agba bridge completed, the road from Ntezi to Agba fully dualized, and very soon, the road from Eziulo to Ezzagu will commence.
"So, His Excellency's good work did not start and end in urban but also in rural communities which my community is proud of.
He added, "if you look at the situation of security in Ishielu before the emergence of His Excellency you will recall that my people were faced with a lot of security threat but today, every Ishielu man sleep in his home with their two eyes closed.
"In my community, we have this understanding that anything that would bring crisis, we don't allow it linger to the following day. We quickly call on our youths and elders in such a situation to see the need for peace because without peace you can't have meaningful development in any Community," he said.
Speaking on the chance of returning to the State House of Assembly in the forthcoming election, Hon Chukwu said that he was still consulting his people who have the right to send him back.
He further commended the leadership of the state All Progressives Congress (APC) and assured the party members of his total support to make sure they succeed in the forthcoming election.
"There are people who put me where I am and they are my constituents who after reviewing my performance would decide whether I am going back or not and for they're decider of who will represent them and the consultation is ongoing which if they asked me to go back will do.
"As concern giving His Excellency our support, it is not negotiable since we are assuring him our hundred per cent support and that has reflected by our efforts to make sure every member of my constituency gets their voters card and I have been supported by providing all the necessary logistics including feeding and transportation to make sure they registered as to give our governor massive votes.
"The All Progressives Congress, APC, being led by His Excellency, Engr David Umahi and the state chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha have done marvellously well to ensure that the party win massively in the forthcoming general election and assure them not to lose focus that our people at the rural areas are with them due to the evidence filled government they are witnessing and will ensure the party succeeds come 2023," Chukwu added.
