The former Secretary to the Government of the Federation and President of the Senate, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, was the cynosure of all eyes at the greater Nigeria Conference which was held at the International Conference Centre Abuja.
The greater Nigeria Conference was organised by Nzuko Umunna, a political mobilisation group championing the actualization of the president of Nigeria from the South-East geo-political zone.
Senator Anyim was described by the many prominent individuals who attended the conference as the best and brightest chance of the South East to produce the president of Nigeria come 2023.
In a testimonial documentary shown at the conference, all past presidents of Nigeria said Senator Anyim is the most qualified person from the South East that can be president of Nigeria in 2023 given his experience, knowledge, exposure, and acceptability by Nigerians from every part of the country.
President Obasanjo said "any time Anyim is allowed to serve Nigeria he makes good use of such opportunity," meaning that if he is elected President of Nigeria in 2023 he will make good use of the opportunity to rebuild the country.
President Goodluck Jonathan described Anyim as "a young man who is committed to the service of this country and if he is given another opportunity to serve, he will do better".
On his part, President Ibrahim Babangida described Anyim as a respectful person who always has something to offer anytime a matter concerns Nigeria.
The former President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo said "Anyim holds nothing back and is impatient for results, I think he is one man we will have more from in the future."
The current President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Prof. George Obiozo said "Anyim is one of our best and brightest and we are happy with his progress in politics as a young statesman and a patriot. After all the accolades, the entire conference erupted in wild applause for Senator Anyim Pius Anyim."
The people of South East and all the leaders from the South West, North, South-South and the Middle Belt who attended the conference, agreed that Senator Anyim South East has clearly shown that they are ready now to take over the presidency after President Buhari in 2023.
