It was a galore of jubilation in Ebonyi State as the Nigeria Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo officially declared to contest for the presidential seat of the country in 2023.
Accordingly, the Ebonyi State Chapter of the South East for Osinbajo 2023 on Tuesday, massively rallied around Abakaliki town with jubilation soliciting support to ensure the victory of their principal, Professor Yemi Osinbajo as the next president of Nigeria, come 2023.
The State Coordinator of the group, Comrade Johnson Nwibo while addressing journalists congratulated Prof Osinbajo for having responded to the calling of his supporters and the entire Nigerians, saying that his declaration for the presidential race would be massively supported to move Nigeria's democracy forward.
He further expressed happiness over the acceptance of the clarion call by Prof. Osinbajo to serve as the next President of the country in considering his antecedents as the Vice President, and thus described his recent declaration as a round peg in a round hole.
Comrade Nwibo also assured Osinbajo that all the five states in the South-East geopolitical region would stand firm steadily to canvass for his victory to become the next President of the country.
The State Coordinator who believed that if Osinbajo emerged as the President of Nigeria would be used by God to change the ugly narratives of the country, called on all and sundry to rally around for his victory come to the 2023 presidential election.
He described Osinbajo as a detribalized leader who always stands for peace, unity and development of Nigeria, and further urged all Nigerians to support him to succeed in his presidential race to reap dividends of democracy.
Another speaker during the event, Prince Chibueze Uburu commended the State Coordinator of the group, among other members, for herding the affairs of the organization in Ebonyi.
He disclosed that the country would be in a safer hand if Professor Osinbajo emerged president in 2023, noting that, "he is the only one who will inject material change Nigerians are advocating for."
He noted that democracy has become the most influential index of human development, social progress, empowerment, and job creation and expressed hope that in coming to 2023 Igbo Community would troop into Abuja for his official inauguration.
In addition, another member, Mr Henry Eze said that the members of the group across the 171 wards and the 13 local government areas in Ebonyi State were behind Prof Osinabajo's presidential aspiration and prayed that by the grace of God he would emerge victoriously in 2023.
Speaking on behalf of the women wings, Mrs Ngozi Oroke expressed their eagerness to campaign for the victory of Professor Osinbajo to succeed President Buhari in the 2023 presidential election.
She noted that Osinabajo's assistance to women as a Vice President has made them proud, believing that his administration if emerged as President would liberate the nation.
