The Apex and Supreme Council of Izhi Nnodo Traditional Institution, Ishi-Uke has offered blessings and support to Architect Dr Edward Nkwegu to contest for the Ebonyi State Governorship position in the 2023 General Elections.
Dr Nkwegu, the Chief Executive Officer of EDON Nigeria Limited and the Chairman of the Special Public Works in Ebonyi, has declared his intention to contest for the state governorship position under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC in 2023.
The governorship hopeful has received the blessings and support of Ishiuke in the Izhi Nnodo clan, which is always considered the highest and most effective in the life of the beneficiaries of such symbolic sacrifice in Izhi Nnodo Ekumenyi.
The Prime Minister of Izhi Nnodo Clan, Ishiuke Elder Mbam Ngele officiated the symbolic sacrifice at Amegu, the ancestral home of Izhi Nnodo Ekumaenyi in Ebonyi State.
Performing the exercise, the Traditional Prime Minister, Ishiuke Elder Mbam Ngele prayed for the success of Dr Edward Nkwegu, stressing that nothing can truncate the efforts of an Izhi man who is peaceful, humble and sincere in becoming the Governor of Ebonyi State in 2023.
An Ishiuke in Ebiya, Elder Okpoko Alieze described Nkwegu as a matured, experienced and valuable governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC who has a lot to offer to the Ebonyi people.
Shortly after receiving the blessings from Ishiuke, Dr Edward Nkwegu promised to embark on an economic revolution through industrialization, create wealth and job opportunities for the people of Ebonyi State, if allowed to emerge as governor in 2023.
He enjoined his supporters to remain calm and resolute towards achieving the 2023 target of becoming the Governor of Ebonyi State.
Meanwhile, Mr Clement Nwibo and Solomon Odom emphasized the need for fairness, equity and justice to guarantee a peaceful electoral process in Ebonyi State.
Other speakers during the event called on the Ebonyi people to continue to support the Governorship ambition of Edward Nkwegu for good governance in the state.
