LR: 2023 Ebonyi APGA Gubernatorial Candidate - Prof Ben Ifeanyi Odoh and his Running Mate - Dr Nkata Chukwu.
Ebonyi Governorship Candidate under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Prof Benard Ifeanyi Odoh on Wednesday declared openly Dr Nkata Chukwu as his running mate.
Odoh while unveiling his running mate in the state governorship race before newsmen and his supporters in Abakaliki, assured of their victory in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
He said that his administration would not embark on needless projects if the Ebonyi people elected him in 2023 to be their Chief Servant in the State.
Odoh, however, expressed worry over what he described as a fragmented atmosphere overshadowing the political passion of the South-East people, urging their leaders and stakeholders to seek regional concern rather than personal interest ahead of the 2023 elections.
The gubernatorial candidate whose running mate hails from Okposi in Ohaozara Council Area expressed his preparedness to take over power from Governor Dave Umahi's led administration in 2023, and advised Ebonyi people to ignore the rumour making rounds in some quarters, that APGA has no structure to win elections in the state.
"Nobody should be deceived that APGA has no structure in Ebonyi and we are prepared to win election in 2023.
“I challenge my opponents in other political parties to come for debates so that we know who is prepared to do the job," he said.
Odoh frowned at the rising cost of food commodities in Ebonyi State and pledged to invest in the citizens by providing good healthcare facilities, standard education and adequate security of lives and property, among other prospects.
He observed that "the issue of zoning formula doesn’t matter," saying "what Ebonyians should be considering much now, is on who is more qualified to govern the state properly."
Expressing concern about the difficulties faced by the state citizens, Odoh said: “My heart bleeds on issues concerning Ebonyi people who are hawking in Lagos and other states of the federation now."
