Ebonyi State Pioneer Secretary of People's Democratic Party, and All Progressives Congress chieftain, APC, Chief Okpani Ndukwe has reacted to a viral publication stating he authored and signed a document prevailing on the state government led by Engr. David Umahi to rethink who succeeds Barr Oby Oko Enyim as the Chairman of Afikpo North Council Area.
Speaking to journalists on Friday in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, Chief Ndukwe said there was no point in time he “thought, attempted or even carried out any rejoinder concerning some political actors in the state especially my local government, Afikpo North.”
Viewing such ill-fated voyage as machinations of the enemies, he said, “Just this afternoon, my media team brought my attention to a document circulating online and even published in some media outlets that I signed a rejoinder that I withdrew certain publication against my kinsman.
“For quite some time now, I have not made any media appearances, but bringing me into this type of writing is the reason I deemed it very expedient to address you this afternoon.
“Please, the general public, my immediate constituency, Unwana, Afikpo North and the entire Ebonyi State should ignore in totality the said publication to have been authored by me as it is the machinations of the enemies.
“We are busy working towards the emergence of our dear Governor, Engr. David Umahi, FNSE, FNATE becoming the next President of Nigeria.
“Therefore, engaging in a campaign of calumny to score cheap political points at this very time is not only laughable but should be discountenanced and disregarded in totality.
“I also want to use this medium to call for massive support for our party, APC, especially to our incoming governor, Chief Francis Nwifuru, and other APC candidates in the 2023 general elections."
The party chief further stated that any attempt to pitch him against any interest in the state and beyond will be strongly resisted.
