Ahead of the Local Government election slated to hold on the Saturday 30th July, 2022 in Ebonyi State, the APC flag bearer for Abakaliki Local Government Council, Hon. Stephen Ebere Nwogba has officially kicked off the campaign in preparation for the exercise.
Nwogba therefore, assured his people of a qualitative representation if he emerges the winner of the council election.
The Campaign which was kicked off at Azuiyiudele ward 8 in Abakaliki, witnessed a mammoth crowd numbering over one thousand from different wards in the local government council.
While addressing the people, the APC flag bearer in the council, Hon. Ebere Nwogba commended the people for trooping out in their large numbers to welcome him and solicited for their support and also vote the councillorship candidates at the polls to enable them to emerge victoriously.
While urging the people to vote for all the APC candidates in the subsequent elections in the State, Hon Nwogba called on the people to move to their various polling units and exercise their franchise than relaxing at their homes on the election day, and promised to give a cash reward of 500, 000 to the ward that has the highest votes, 300,000 to the second position and 100, 000 to the third position and restated his resolve to run all-inclusive administration.
He maintained that he would put to stop the issue of indigeneship in the council, adding that his administration would unite everyone and ensure that nobody is left out in the scheme of things.
He also used the opportunity and advised every eligible voter who has not obtained their PVCs to rush now and get them to enable them to vote for credible leaders of their choice.
The Chairman of Abakaliki Local Government Area, Hon. Emmanuel Nwangele charged both Local Government and ward executives to mobilize their people to participate massively on the election day by ensuring that at least 60, 000 persons vote in the various wards that made up the council to enable the party to record a landslide victory as that would help in demonstrating that the council is for APC.
He assured his total support and commitment to the incoming chairman, describing him as an upright and truthful man.
Earlier, the APC Chairman in Abakaliki Local Government Council, Mr Paulinus Attam, assured the victory of the party in the elections, describing the candidature of Hon. Ebere Nwogba as a round peg in the round hole.
In their separate speeches, Mr Uche Mouka, Mrs Justina Ogbonna as well as Mr Ikechukwu Nwofoke vowed to sweep urban wards for APC and pledged to remain committed to the policies and programmes of the party at all times.
Meanwhile, the event attracted some political office holders in the council including the former SA to the Governor on Market Development Hon. Peter Nwogbaga, the National President of Onwa Oferekpe Foundation Hon. Kenneth Nwovu, the SA to the Governor on Road Maintenance Hon. Benedict Nwovu, SA to the Governor on Special Project Hon. Stanley Lebarah Mbam, the chairman of Ohaneze Ndigbo in Ebonyi Hon. Peter Mbam, Dr Mathew Nwobashi, Chief Paul Nwenyim, Coordinator of Enyida development centre Hon. Augustina Nwovu, Coordinator of Abakaliki DC Hon. Ekene Ede and his counterpart of Amachi Hon. Obinna Nwiboko among others.
The pinnacle of the event was the presentation of gift items to the people.
