...Condemns social media threat against Izzi Nation
From Victor Nwegede, Abakaliki
Ebonyi State youths have been advised to avoid politicians who are immersing wealth and power through harmful training and actions, especially those employing them as political tools for destructive services.
Comrade Ben Nwovu, INYF National President.
Comrade Nwovu was reacting to the social media threat against the Izzi people by an alleged impostor, one Mr Ominyi Izuchukwu Philip on his Facebook handle in the recent time.
The INYF Boss, however, appealed to "the entire Ebonyi youth to resist the temptation of accepting to serve as political tools used by our politicians to destroy each other's names, as no political position is worth the blood of any Ebonyian, nor the good image of a clan."
He said that his office has "received with dismay the concocted social media threat from a Facebook account belonging to one impostor, Mr Ominyi Izuchukwu Philips (Philanthropist) who according to the account, hails from Izzi LGA and lives in Port Harcourt, River State."
The President noted that the alleged impostor had before now used Izzi's known name to create bad blood between Izzi people and other Ebonyians but was later traced to have been an outsider.
Comrade Nwovu continued: "Again, not satisfied with his cheap image of battering our people who are known for hospitality, have created another fictitious name Ominyi Izuchukwu with a post that reads, "My dear, no amount of name calling will distract us from a victory that has been divinely assured in Heaven and Earth. Ebonyi governorship race will be between landlord and tenants and all enemies of Izzi people will see hell on Earth."
The alleged impostor, according to Nwovu, further said on his Facebook handle, "If you want to cry, begin to cry well!!! Well because it is going to be a total genocide, all our land grabbers will go down 6-fits. After 2031, anytime and anywhere about Izzi people, you will be terrified."
However, the INYF President called on the good people of Ebonyi State to disregard the said Facebook threat from the faceless impostor, whom he said has become hell-bent on destroying the image of Izzi-speaking people for political justifications in Ebonyi State.
He noted: "It goes without boasting that the average Izzi man is known inherently by our common spirit of accommodation and for the impostor to think that bringing such demeaning social media attack on us will instigate hatred against us has been an effort in futility.
"Hence, I call on the general public to disregard the post as my office has reported the account to appropriate quarters who will ensure that the impostor is tracked and made to face the law to serve as a deterrent to others who may have an interest in such cheap political propaganda in the nearest future."
