The Etiti Edda Secondary Technical School Alumni Association says arrangements have been concluded to celebrate the institution's 40th Anniversary and reward its current pupils.
The event, which is billed to take place on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, will also feature the presentation of awards to illustrious sons and daughters of the community, who have contributed to the development of the school.
Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr Eta Agwu-Imo, stated this during a press conference, in Abakaliki, the state capital, on Wednesday, adding that the ceremony will signpost a strategic homecoming for the graduands to chart a better cause for the school, in future.
According to him, the ceremony will be anchored by the Acting National President of the Association, Mr Irem Ukpai who reiterated the need for constant support to develop the school.
He said, "The college will be 40th by this September and the people that graduands from the school want to celebrate this it's 40th birthday, that's 40th Anniversary. This, we believe, will serve as a homecoming for the old students and allow them to brainstorm to move the school forward.
"There will be gift presentations to our alma mater and at the event, there will be a commitment from old students and others to bring development to the school.
"The occasion will hold at the school premises and it will provide an opportunity for members to reconnect after close to half a decade.
"The event will also feature award presentations to illustrious sons and daughters of the community, who have contributed in one way or the other to uplift the school. We are going to honour people like Justice Uche Onyemenam (JCN); Barr. Iro Ukpai; Dr Onuoha Nnachi; and Mrs Priscilia Nnachi; among others."
Etiti Edda Secondary Technical School is located at Ezi-Edda village, Etiti Edda Autonomous Community, in the Afikpo South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
