The Labour Candidate for Abakaliki/Izzi Federal Constituency, Dr Ezeh Emmmauel Eze, on Wednesday sent a strong message to the Izhi people, calling for enhanced love, peace and unity of purpose among themselves especially the stakeholders of the clan.
Dr Ezeh said: "As we roll out the drums in celebration of Ojiji.
Ojiji 2022 promises to be unique, colourful and pregnant with possibilities. My wish is for a very successful Ojiji that showcases our political plurality...yet our oneness as a people.
Watching the political permutations from major political parties, there is an unfortunate assumption that Alaizhi does not count in their political equation. PDP completely ignored the importance of Izhi Clan in an obvious poke in our eyes; APGA unfortunately seems to have taken the same stance when you look at their candidates from Ebonyi North. There is this certainty that with LP, APC, AA and YPP, his votes will be split into nothingness...but that is only a sophisticated guess from those who see us as inconsequential!
Now that we know...what excuse other than the unity of purpose, love for our collective interests and determination to align forces shall send the right response to those who have written us off?
The period of Ojiji is a time to make that statement of Unity and Oneness Loud and Clear. We shall assemble at our ancestral home in our colourful attires to tell the rest of our brothers that we are united in purpose and that at the appointed time, we shall collapse structures and work for Izhi Project.
Those who want to use the occasion to advance selfish political advantage should listen to the voice of reason. Those who on the other extreme assume that Ojiji Izhi is for the government in power and decide to boycott should be reminded that if tomorrow gifts them their aspiration to power, they too may host Ojiji for others to attend. The life they say is a barber's wheel...the law of retribution is ever watchful.
I urge those in power to show inclusiveness...for in my father's kingdom are many houses. We can only have one Izhi Political Leader at each point in time.
