The Ebonyi State-based Lawyer who is the Principal, Big Bird Chambers and Founder of the Advocate for Equity and Good Leadership, Barr. Sunday Ununu has celebrated the less privileged ones and the downtrodden in the state to mark his 44th birthday anniversary.
The birthday party which was held at the beggars' corner, opposite Saint Theresa's Catholic Cathedral, along Ogoja Road, Abakaliki, attracted all the downtrodden in all parts of the State as well as relatives, friends and well-wishers of the celebrant.
Speaking, Barr Ununu who was highly appreciative to God for adding another fruitful and glorious year to his life, said he decided to celebrate the birthday with the less privileged ones to give them a sense of belonging, saying that he was honoured by their presence as his guests.
He encouraged them to keep faith with God, knowing that the challenges they are facing are not the end of their lives.
Barr Ununu appreciated all that came to celebrate with him including the less privileged and called other well-spirited individuals and government at all levels to always see reasons to assist the less privileged ones in the society and extend dividends of democracy to them.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the occasion, Mr Steve Opoke, commended the celebrant for his love for the downtrodden, noting that the less privileged are part of the society and called on the government to come to their aid.
Earlier in his word of exaltation, the spiritual Director of Big Bird Chambers, Evangelist Peter Igwe, lauded the celebrant for the gesture and enjoined the less privileged to anchor their hope and trust in God at all times.
In his remarks, the State Welfare Officer, National Association of Persons with Disabilities, Ebonyi State Chapter, Mr Okereke Mbada, thanked the celebrant and prayed to God for more blessings upon him.
Some of the beneficiaries including two visually impaired persons Mrs Grace Obasi and Mr Daniel Okike extolled Barr. Sunday Ununu for remembering them and prayed to God to prosper him and grant him many more years of fruitful endeavours.
The celebrations were climaxed with special prayers for the less privileged and the downtrodden, cutting of Birthday cake and dancing, as the celebrant shared undisclosed cash gifts to all the less privileged and downtrodden including little children among others.
