Group known as the Ebonyi State Women League has on Saturday drummed support for the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii in Ebonyi State.
The Chairman of the occasion, Mrs Patricia Nwankwegu, the wife of former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Ebonyi State, made this known in her speech at Odii's campaign office in Abakaliki.
She said the group would work tirelessly to ensure the victory of Odii as the next Ebonyi State governor considering his humanitarian services in society.
"What we are saying is that Ebonyi women are solidly behind you because you have been tasted and trusted," she hinted.
She described August as a month which is normally used by women to brainstorm for the development of society, especially the one that concerns women's wings.
Lady Frances Mgbada, a Guest Speaker at the event also eulogized Odii's philanthropic life and assured him of the Ebonyi women's solidarity and support to ensure his victory at the 2023 polls.
Responding, Odii, the PDP gubernatorial candidate assured the women that his administration would bring back hope to the Ebonyi people.
Odii said he would transform Ebonyi State with his four-point agenda, saying there would be a radical revolution in the area of education, all-inclusive empowerment, and change completely the ugly narratives heralded by the state.
He said his special plan for Ebonyi women would distinguish them from their counterparts at the national level if he wins the 2023 gubernatorial polls.
He stated that Ebonyi state would be shut down on his flag-off campaign day, assuring the women of utmost recognition in all his programs for the 2023 polls.
