The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing under the watch of Mazi Damian Okafor has expressed its commitment to the birth of New Nigeria, and its support for the conduct of free, fair and credible elections in 2023.

Mazi Damian Okafor, the National Youth Leader of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide made this known in a statement on Thursday.
He said: "As the 2023 general elections edge closer, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing, as a non-partisan umbrella body whose primary interest is the welfare and development of not only South-Easterners but also the entire Nigerian citizenry is fully committed to forming synergy and partnership with stakeholders towards ensuring a free, fair and credible election.
"In light of this, we want to reiterate that the Igbo Youths world over are smart, enterprising, industrious and resourceful and fully committed to the vision of a new Nigeria and as such will be unanimously voting competent, proven and sound candidates who will be committed to a better Nigeria agenda.
"Shortly, we shall begin to engage the youths at the grassroots on a holistic sensitization campaign to enlighten our people on the need to make informed choices, and align with a vision for peaceful coexistence and violence-free activities before, during and after the general elections.
"Considering the pivotal position of the political class in the political developments in this season, we shall be consequently consulting, engaging and deliberating with candidates, party executives and other stakeholders in the region and beyond to ensure and advocate for peaceful, free and fair elections.
"To this end, we enjoin Nigerians to refrain from all hate speeches, violent misconduct and any ethnic-induced contention of any sort as we focus on achieving the bigger goal of ensuring that the will of the people prevails in the best atmosphere possible."
