The newly inaugurated Executive Chairman of Abakaliki Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Hon Stephen Ebere Nwogba has officially begun work with the prayer summit and assured of leading with the fear of God throughout his administration to take the council to the enviable height.
Hon Nwogba who assumed office yesterday with a holly massive service by the Catholic Priest in charge of St. Michael Parish Agbaja, Rev. Fr. Alexander Eze in the Council headquarters Nkaliki, said every successful leadership comes from God.
Speaking during the submission, the council boss noted he decided to start with God for the smooth running of his administration as one is the majority.
According to him, "Like the saying goes that one with God is the majority, any foundation led in God is always a solid one and I have decided to anchor this leadership in God.
"We dedicated this council to God because wherever there is God's presence all you will be seeing is positive things and the essence of making this prayer is unquantifiable."
The Council Chairman who anticipated navigating all troubled areas and ensuring that his administration, in the end, recorded positive results said his predecessors had done their best and reiterated his readiness to surpass him.
"With God, I can achieve all I want to achieve, with God through the help of humanity I can achieve all my desires," he said.
He expressed his avowed determination to touch the lives of his people positively, noting that the condition of the rural dwellers in the area, is very pathetic.
He however vowed to change the ugly narratives in the council, adding that his priorities are to unite the Abakaliki people and to embark on rural and human development.
The council boss also appreciated the people of the council for turning out massively to support him and prayed to God to bless them richly.
He used the occasion to appoint Mr Chukwuka Odom as his Special Assistant and Comrade Isaac Nwankwegu as his Personal Assistant.
Earlier, the Priest in charge of St. Michael Parish Agbaja Unuphu in Abakaliki Local Government Area, Rev. Father Alexander Eze urged Christians to always acknowledge God first in all their endeavours and enjoined the council chairman to represent his people effectively, especially those in the hinterlands as well as striving to create a massive transformation and legacies that he would be remembered for when he bows out of the Office.
He further pointed out the need for the chairman to be prayerful and seek the advice of the people of the council always, by embracing human relationships and making selfless services among the people.
The cleric who enjoined the people of the council to keep themselves close to God, tasked them to avoid acts capable of jeopardizing their lives while charging them to live up to their expectations in any opportunity given to them thereby making positive contributions and avoiding being selfish but work in unionism for the overall development of the council.
On his part, the APC Chairman in Abakaliki Local Government Area, Mr Paulinus Attam and the Leader of the Abakaliki Legislative Council, Hon. Nicodemus Umayi congratulated the Chairman for taking such bold steps and assured of their unwavering support to him towards actualizing the success of his administration while expressing hope that his administration would take the council to a greater height.
The event attracted stakeholders in the council including the Special Assistant to the Governor on Road Maintenance, Hon. Benedict Nwovu, the member representing Abakaliki South Constituency in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Deacon Joseph Ununu, the General Manager of Ebonyi Rice World, Mr Ifeanyi Mbam, among others.
