The group under the auspices of Okpuitumo Like Minds Assembly has paid an advocacy visit to the chairman of Abakaliki Local Government Council Hon. Stephen Ebere Nwogba and honoured him with a portrait enlargement.
The visit which was held at the council chairman's lodge drew the presence of many members of the union.
In his address, the chairman of the union Hon. Kenneth Ogayi said the purpose of the visit was to commend the chairman for his emergence and expressed their unalloyed loyalty and supports towards actualizing the success of his administration.
The union's chairman who congratulated the council chairman for their warm reception, assured to contribute their quota by voting massively to all the candidates of the All Progressive Congress (APC) come 2023 general elections in the State.
He urged the chairman to endeavour to carry their community along in the scheme of things and promised to abide by his policies and programmes at all times while urging him to exhibit a high level of mutual relationship with their ward councillor Hon. Friday Ukpa as he would never disappoint him in any way.
He used the occasion and expressed warmed profound gratitude to the executive governor of Ebonyi State Engr. David Umahi for his numerous achievements in the State and for choosing an illustrious son of the Izzi clan Hon. Francis Nwifuru to be his successor come 2023.
On his part, the State Chairman of the non-academic staff union of universities (NASU) Chief Michael Origbo and the former vice chairman of the council Hon. James Nwuzor, while appreciating the chairman for his emergence and successful resumption of office, noted that it has been their dream for such a giant man like him to be the chairman of the council and thrown their weight behind his administration, assuring that the Community, Okpuitumo would secure the highest vote for APC to ensure the party's emergence in the State come 2023 general elections while wishing him well in his new office.
Other speakers including the former management committee member in Ekumenyi development centre Hon. John Mbam, the immediate past secretary of Okpuitumo development union Mr Christopher Ukpa, the former management committee member in Ekumenyi centre Hon. Paul Akata and a security guru in the area Hon. Friday Arigbo, all poured an encomium to the chairman, describing him as a transparent and detribalize leader that others need to emulate and enjoined him not to change in his usual good character while praying God to continue to bless him by lifting him higher in the nearest future.
While responding, the executive chairman of Abakaliki Local Government council Hon. Stephen Ebere Nwogba who was highly elated commended the people for the honour they bestowed on him.
The council boss who underscored the significance of peace and unity in a given society, charged the people to continue working in unison with their members and the community at large by embracing the spirit of cohesiveness in all they are doing and added that unity we stand and divided will fall as it would foster permanent peace, progress and development of their community.
He advised them to be steadfast and as a matter of utmost importance vote massively for the emergence of the Speaker of Ebonyi State house of Assembly and APC gubernatorial candidate Hon. Francis Nwifuru comes in 2023.
He assured them of his robust relationship and partnership, emphasizing the need for them to use the union and champion the course of peace in the area and always be resolving their differences to avoid causing crises in the community.
In his vote of thanks, the Councilor representing Okpuitumo ward 12 Hon. Friday Ukpa commended the chairman for the love he showed to his people and expressed the readiness of his ward to ensure APC sweeps all positions come 2023 general elections.
