Egede Lawrence sends a piece of advice for the different gubernatorial candidates of political parties in Ebonyi State ahead of the 2023 general elections.
With what it takes to be good leaders of a developing State in terms of advancement like it is happening in Ebonyi State there should be political cooperation by those wanting to be leaders.
This cooperation should be by introducing themselves first to the incumbent Governor of the State, as they campaign in public places with the masses.
To maintain a balanced state of true political relationship, there must be an extension of a hand of fellowship, and show faces of friendship to the Governor of the State and with full honour in addition to it, with confidence.
An adage says that "honour is reciprocal" and I believe in the doctrine of respect and regard for each other, which is good.
It is still a way of cooperating, not minding the partisan differences or the party of belonging including the incumbent Governor as a father in the existing State leadership.
The cooperation will enhance the cohesive political relationships, between the Candidates vying for change, and seeking positions from different political parties.
I believe that it is going to be the Governor himself, who will be happy to receive and bless every political party candidate, including the party to which he belongs. He is not divided and rules as Governor of the populace.
I believe if such a thing should happen between all the political parties, the fears will be allayed and a peaceful situation gained while the masses will enjoy it.
Ebonyi State is a free, calm and peaceful zone for everyone and there is no cause for alarm, as far as Governor Umahi's regime is concerned. This is a sure bet.
I think if I were to suggest for those party Guber Candidates in Ebonyi State, I will tell them to play it very cool with an incumbent Governor. Politics is not a war and it is not a fiasco.
There was never a time that the incumbent Governor of Ebonyi State declared war, against any political party candidate in the State. Panic or Label isn't right.
If there's any suspicion of an issue that is delicate and it is detected within the State by anybody or a group of persons, the first man to notify about it officially is the Chief Security Officer of that place. It is wise, normal and quite advisable.
Going outside to complain is like telling the general public that we are not yet capable of controlling our own house.
It will look like many timid children, in front of their suspected single rival in a fight of beat me I beat you, but only to start crying, complaining and running away in fear for nothing harmful that happened around them.
Watchers at close range and spectators from the far end will begin to mock the funny drama, they will say these are children without strong home training.
Governor Umahi's regime is like a general opinion government, which if people know it there is nothing to fear or panic about.
That's why in a conglomerate regime, everybody should be involved in keeping vigil over the place, as teamwork where nobody is seen as a stranger.
There's no how a team of Guber Candidates of political parties in a state will approach a sitting Chief Executive, or write to him directly about their fears on an issue he won't respond to quickly.
A direct or indirect way of doing the right thing wrongly, setting the right priorities wrongly in a
the situation of fear, or suspicion in a problem that requires an inner solution is a bad confrontation.
It hasn't got to a stage of war between any party and other parties, as to complain publicly or take it farther than wisdom and maturity demands it to be.
It has to be taken in the normal way of approach to domestic issues of democratic politics.
Let me tell us that once a Chief Executive is in charge in a multi-political setting in a State, he is no longer a single political party man there. He's a party Chief.
This fact is what prejudice and bitter politics, borne out of bad social attitudes will rule out.
Ebonyi State should adopt the doctrine of brotherhood in the inner house political pursuits.
It should not be an issue of box me and I will box your method, which will ruin decency and kill orderliness because of politics.
That's the way I see it from the angle of correct judgement, for people of the same family as it is at present in Ebonyi State.
To God is the glory forever.
