On the media account of particular leadership cognisance in Ebonyi State, Egede Lawrence writes.
There are three personalities I recognized in the Ebonyi State political Leadership household.
1. Senator Sam. Ominyi Egwu.
2. Chief Martin Nwancho Elechi
3. Engr. David Nweze Umahi.
Apart from these three figures, I wouldn't have listened to other politicians, because they are all there for themselves selfishly.
I am not talking about political appointees who are serving in the system, not deciding on it.
I am talking about politicians who are on the top table of taking decisions, ruling over issues or giving matching orders to their subjects. I see politicians alike.
If for any reason I deemed it fit in considering other individual politicians, I can pay them my cordial support and solidarity if it is convincingly necessary on general grounds of acceptance.
I don't believe in party politics but believe in the personality trust game of politics as a choice.
The reason is that I love people who are highly responsible and very good, in the administration of justice for the local masses.
I hate to be a partner in failure supporting leaders who are not responsible, not mature in their thinking faculties, not helpful to people and not publicly sincere.
I hate to be part of support and solidarity for politicians who do all they can to become leaders, spending money for a purpose that he or they can't handle very well in the long run, and to the end. That's why I remark them.
I hate to support any leader or politician who keeps malice, full of bitterness with the unrepentant spirit of vengeance and anger.
I hate to support politicians who would like everybody to pay solidarity to him or her but would not like to accommodate people who are in opposition.
I hate to support politicians who are pretentious in loyalty, wholehearted in deception, as colourful as chameleons and who are green snakes under the green grass aiming at top thrones.
I have more reasons why my love for checkmating leaders cannot be compromised at all.
I am always interested in the truth, in presenting facts and mindful of the correct thing to be done, especially for people.
Another reason is that I have always wanted to hold direct persons in power responsible, for what goes right or wrong.
That is to say, if anything goes right, I increase my promotion of the achievements of such a leader, using his or her goals to judge and conclude my reports.
And if anything goes wrong I would take inventory of it and privately alert the leader, who is the key person to give account.
I would like to advise the leader over what has gone wrong only in privacy, wait patiently to get his or her responses, and then know the next line of action to take.
I hate the use of acrimony to address the faults of leaders but can refer to it indirectly to correct the wrong impressions that provoke condemnations.
That's why I have always been interested, in dealing directly with leaders in topmost positions.
One thing people don't know is that once a government comes into being, everybody is part of it and no need to condemn it.
The moment one condemns the government, the whole of the people in the system are included, and then the impression traps everybody in the family.
Condemning a government is not correcting anything, but making matters controversial becomes everybody's fault.
It is better to correct a leader or government going wrong most politely and wisely.
Moreover, if one condemns a leader publicly, intelligent outsiders will assume that everybody is at fault for voting, or allowing such a leader to come into the system as the head in the first place. That's the risk there. God hates to condemn but loves to correct wrongs.
It is only where tyranny is highly indicated that public outcry will be necessary because the cry of the innocent will expose it to the whole world sooner or later.
That's the reason prevention is said to be better than cure, in a situation where the right thing should be done before it is too late to complain or regret it badly.
On the whole, the public is to blame if at any time they allow pretentious leaders to emerge.
That's the reason controversies will never end where errors are committed in rivalry against the correct thing. It is a problem.
That's why I am particularly interested only in the topmost leaders, who are in control of government at the political end.
To God is the glory forever.
