An Abakaliki Federal High Court in Ebonyi State on Tuesday upheld the suit which sought the expulsion of Mrs Ann Agom-Eze from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Recall Mrs Agom-Eze had been bogged down in a legal struggle with Governor David Umahi over the APC’s 2023 senatorial ticket for Ebonyi South Zone.
The Umudomi Ward executives of the APC where Agom-Eze came from had earlier expelled Mrs Agom-Eze from the party for allegedly disobeying some sections of the party's constitution.
But, despite her alleged expulsion from the party, the embattled senatorial aspirant went on to fascinate in a legal fight with Governor Umahi over the senatorial ticket.
The State APC Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha and the Umudomi Chairman of the party, Nwiteze John, together approached the Federal High Court on behalf of the party faithful to stop her from parading herself as a member of the APC and as a senatorial candidate of the party.
In a ruling on Tuesday, Justice Fatun Riman of the Federal High Court in Abakaliki consented to the prayers of the plaintiff.
Justice Riman added that Mrs Agom-eze either by herself or agent(s) has been thus restricted from parading herself as the senatorial candidate of the APC for Ebonyi South pending the hearing and determination of the substantive case. -Sun.
