In less than five months to the 2023 polls, a strong stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ebonyi, Chief Fred Udeogu has said that he would not renege on equity, fairness and social justice in the gubernatorial position of the state.
Udeogu, who was the former PDP Caretaker Chairman of the state made this known on Monday while interacting with a non-political group under the auspices of the Unwuekumenyi United Youth Forum in Abakaliki when its members visited him.
The Ebonyi Elder statesman said he supported Governor David Nweze Umahi from the Southern part of the state in 2015 based on equity and would not renege in adhering to equity, justice and fairness in 2023.
Recall that the Unwuekumenyi bloc is made up of Ezza, Ikwo, Izhi, Mgboejeogu, Agba and Ezillo people.
The non-political group called on the people of the bloc to think home ahead of next year's general elections.
In his remark, the National President, Uche Ali-Ega told Chief Udeogu that they were in his place to remind him of the need to place his choices of Candidates in the 2023 general elections on the scale of equity, justice and fairness.
The group appealed to Chief Udeogu not to allow the shared values of the Unwuekumenyi and Ebonyi people to be sacrificed on the altar of material inducement.
Other Speakers, the Secretary of the Group, Mr Jude Chikadibia Okpo and Comrade Ben Nwovu called on Chief Udeogu to endeavour to make himself a rallying point for the regeneration of Unwuekumenyi unity and heritage for the prosperity of the entire Ebonyi State.
It was gathered that a significant number of the PDP strong men in Ebonyi including the party candidates had vowed not to renege on equity, fairness and justice, especially in the gubernatorial position.
