The members of the Ebonyi traditional council have assured massive votes for the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu to ensure his landslide victory in the state at the 2023 polls.
The traditional rulers also requested Tinubu to cede the Senate Presidential position to Governor David Umahi if emerged winner at the 2023 presidential poll.
The monarchs requested this on Wednesday night through their Chairman, HRH Eze Charles Mkpuma during a town hall meeting with Tinubu at the new Executive Chambers, Ochudo Centenary City Abakaliki.
Tinubu came to Ebonyi on Wednesday to flag off his presidential campaign tomorrow being Thursday.
Mkpuma congratulated Tinubu for his victory as the presidential candidate of APC and said the traditional rulers in the state want him to cede the Senate President to Umahi.
"We, however, wish to say that we will support you and wish to ask that you make our governor, (David Umahi) the Senate president in 2023 when you emerge victorious", he said.
The Presidential Candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu also Commissioned the dualized road and street light project at the new Centenary city at about 6:40 pm.
However, Tinubu was received by the Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi alongside the state governorship flag bearer of his party, Hon. Francis Nwifuru.
He was also accompanied by the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Dumeji Bankole.
Tinubu who described Umahi as an infrastructural governor came to the state for the official flag off of his presidential rally ahead of the 2023 polls.
It is expected that Tinubu's running mate, Ahmed Shittima and other APC stalwarts from different parts of the country would arrive in the state capital for the continuation of the programme on Thursday.
