The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has described the ruling Progressives Congress, APC in Nigeria as the most turbulent party in the country.
Elder Abraham Amah, the Abia PDP Vice Chairman/Acting State Publicity Secretary stated this while reacting to a statement credited to the state chapter of the APC, saying that it's ready to drive PDP from the state government house.
He said that "the attention of the Abia PDP has been drawn to one reckless, a laughable, infantile and uninformed statement by one member of the many factions of the ever-turbulent political Party, APC, that it will drive the omnipotent PDP out of Abia State government House in 2023."
The Vice Chairman said the statement was made following another court judgement in a series of court judgements that installed one of the many guber aspirants of the APC in Abia State as their validly elected candidate for the 2023 general election.
He continued: "Knowing the Abia APC, the latest judgement has not only deepened the squabbles in the crisis-ridden Party but also left it more splintered that it cannot rise above its failures to compete with the People's Party, PDP.
"The statement is regrettable because it lacks merit in its proposition that the good people of Abia will in their God-given wisdom abandon the peace, goodwill and progress they enjoy and embrace the violence and theatre of war shamelessly orchestrated in our sister state, Imo by the APC-led administration which many see as an extension of the rabid hatred and grand conspiracy of the APC to continue to marginalize the Igbo nation.
"The Abia PDP sees it as an insult to Ndi Abia for one of the elements in the traumatized and fractious APC to suggest that Abians will embrace a Party that has caused so much pain to Nigerians in all facts of our national life.
"Thanks to the APC insecurity in the forms of banditry, kidnapping and terrorism have become first nature to Nigerians. Under the APC-led federal government, terrorism, banditry and kidnapping have become normal in almost 60 per cent of the APC-controlled States while the rest of the nation can also perceive the evil aroma.
"Nigeria’s once burgeoning economy which the APC inherited from the PDP has become a sore in the conscience of the nation.
"Nigerians remain the poorest people on earth; fitting the sad and unenviable description of “poor people of a wealthy country."
"The precipitous decline in the economic fortunes of Nigerians defies the logic of primary economics and has created a new field of research for Economics scholars who want to find out how a people can be so richly blessed, yet remain unimaginably poor.
"Our national currency has been turned into worthless paper because of the hyperinflation induced by the mismanagement of the economy by the mindless APC-led federal government.
"Today, our naira-to-dollar exchange rate zig-zags beyond the understanding of treasury managers. Prices of essential goods like petrol and diesel and staple foods like rice, beans and garri have risen beyond the reach of most Nigerians.
"Ahead of the Christmas yuletide, the prices of these commodities are so scary that Nigerians cannot wait to throw the APC out of office in the February 2023 general election.
"It is unfortunate and embarrassing that the APC cannot see its dark clouds and continues to carry on as if Nigerians are fools.
"The truth is that the leadership of APC also knows that all is not well. Recently, President Muhammadu Buhari admitted that much when he admonished Nigeria to vote wisely.
"He truly knows the implications of another APC-led federal government.
"It is obvious to every discerning mind that APC does not have a future in Abia. A vote for APC at any level of government is a vote for corruption, kidnapping, banditry, killer herdsmen, economic decline, injustice and persecution.
"Their evil footprints in all areas of our national life are evident and Nigerians, more than ever, are determined to flush APC out of the office and return to the good old days of the PDP administration when Nigeria was on a steady rise to enduring prosperity.
"We advise the members of the fractious Abia APC to go home and put their house to enable them to present a governorship candidate who will contest with our heavyweight candidate, erudite Prof. Uche Ikonne in the 2023 general election.
"We are waiting for them at the polls but it is very clear that the APC is not prepared for the election and the best they can do is to support the emergence of PDP’s Prof. Ikonne and his running mate Barr. Okey Igwe as the next governor of Abia State and join us to build the Abia of our collective dreams.
"Ahead of the forthcoming general election, we advise members of the PDP and well-meaning Abians to disregard the rants emanating from the different factions of the destabilised Abia APC and focus on our ambition of deepening good governance in Abia State by voting for the PDP at all levels. "
