At times, it takes me time to think over what people say to my knowledge, what they did or do in my presence and what they expect from others.
It was not long ago that I saw online the picture of some of the Gubernatorial Candidates, after their meeting, calling for the disbandment of the EBUBE AGU Security outfit in Ebonyi State.
Their reasons sounded like the fears entertained in probability, as a result of what they think or suspect about their security, or the intentions of the regime of Gov. Umahi in establishing the EBUBE AGU Security outfit in Ebonyi State, about the nation's security challenges.
We are talking about Security for all and not Security for a few people in a general situation.
It could be they forgot the real reasons behind the EBUBE AGU Security outfit, to help and keep peace and order in society.
They forgot that EBUBE AGU Security formation is the brainchild of the Southeast leaders.
They forgot that the EBUBE AGU Security outfit was established with the approval of the National Security Council, signed by the nation's President Gen. Buhari.
They forgot it is in their home security interest that the EBUBE AGU Security outfit came on board, to assist the already overworked regular national forces of surveillance.
They forgot that mere personal interest is not the reason why the EBUBE AGU Security outfit was established domestically.
They forgot that their fears or suspicions should have been channelled to the EBUBE AGU Security office for investigation.
They forgot that whatsoever the case, the hatred of anything necessary for general security reasons is unwelcome.
They forgot that politics is not an excuse to compromise the lives of people for personal or group reasons, no matter what it is which pays dividends to a few people demanding focus.
When I assess the levels of security measures in Nigeria, Ebonyi State remains the most secure, safe and sound State in the nation. It's no exaggeration.
The recent insecurity alerts that were made by the International world, on the need for security consciousness of their citizens living in Nigeria, proved clearly that Ebonyi State is one of the most habitable environments in the country. It's a big testimony.
Amongst all the States sighted in the Security Alerts involving the Southeast, Ebonyi State is free from the accusing fingers of anxiety by the International world. Umahi's regime did it.
*There's this adage which says; "It is where one lives that he or she fences around for security reasons."*
The adage is a fact expressed in every society, going by what is being exhibited everywhere in the world of security-conscious people. It is a regular practice.
Everyone needs security round about their habitations, without which nobody will be safe to an extent that will ensure enough guarantee to the protection of lives and properties in a place.
Any sensible society that wants to be safe, sound and secure is required to have proof of readiness to combat insecurity.
Nigeria is one of the riskiest nations in the world, where the issue of insecurity is rampant.
Nobody will say that he or she does not need security around him or her, wherever, whenever and however it is very possible.
The present society of human beings is volatile to a criminal point of apprehension, which requires commensurate tight security preparedness to ward off insecurity and embarrassment.
There are so many reasons that will buttress the points, which I am trying to make here for the general public to know the far we shouldn't go, to condemn what is necessary for keeping people safe, sound and highly secure. The necessity is high.
EBUBE AGU Security outfit is an added shield for the politicians in Ebonyi State, who know not that they are also beneficiaries.
