Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the National Treasurer of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Mr Mathew Uguru has called for hitch-free elections in Ebonyi State.
He made the call while interacting with newsmen at the Presidential campaign rally and the flag-off campaign of Ebonyi APC Gubernatorial candidate in Abakaliki.
The Party chieftain who enjoined politicians to shun politics of bitterness, rancour and acrimony for the interest of the citizens, stressed the need for them to adhere to the 2022 electoral act and INEC guidelines and imbibed the spirit of harmony and love to one another.
According to him" As a politician, you should not be thinking about how to harm your fellow human beings to achieve your desire"
"Therefore the players must be very careful to play according to the rule and show love to each other because love is ultimate in whatever we do be it business or politicking. It is my humble advice to candidates of the various political parties to play according to the rule."
He commended Ebonyi State, Governor Engr. David Umahi for his developmental strides in the State described the turnout of Ebonyi people to the rally as clear evidence that APC is a strong party that all Nigerians are supposed to belong to for the well-being of the people.
"I think the enthusiasm has been spoken, we are rejoicing for the good governance of the State Governor Engr. David Umahi and it is our fervent prayer that the coming government will follow the same foundation already laid
However, he solicited for free, fair and credible elections in all the nooks and crannies of the State.
