The management of Npower, NASIMS disclosed that it has initiated the payment processes for batch C, Stream 2 beneficiaries, noting that beneficiaries will start to receive their backlogs.
A response message sent to one of the beneficiaries partially read, ”Kindly be informed that your stipends are currently being processed and would be initiated duly. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Stay N-Powered.
It would be recalled several Power beneficiaries have shown their displeasure on the Facebook page and Twitter handle of the Npower scheme. The beneficiaries lamented not being paid their monthly stipend despite reporting to their various Places of Primary Assignment (PPA) since August.
Earlier this month the Npower batch C, Stream 2 beneficiaries have taken to social media to lament the non-payment of their monthly stipends after three months they were deployed to their various PPA.
One of the beneficiaries with the name Cynthia said: ”We have been going to our PPA for up to three months, yet Npower has failed to pay us a single month from our stipends. Npower should help us because the economy presently is not friendly."
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development has reinstated the ethos of the Npower scheme amid the ongoing investigation by the Independent Corrupt Practice Commission (ICPC).
The ministry noted that upon the discovery of some anomalies in its payment system, it immediately transferred the case to ICPC for a thorough investigation.
In a statement which was signed by the permanent secretary of the ministry, Dr Nasir Sani and released on its Twitter handle, the ministry added that it has reinforced its system to eliminate all anomalies and prevent similar occurrences in the future.
The statement thereby calls on all members of the public to come forward with information on any irregularities noticed in the implementation of the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP).
