Egede Lawrence composes media prescriptions for ways of helping one another generally in the human society.
If only we will spare just ten minutes to read an article and study it, the better for us.
Let me tell my fellow reading audience that they are my friends, whose names are already written in the Lamb's "Wisdom Book" Of Life in the Kingdom of Heaven Above.
Here today, I want to show one reason God created all of us in this Universe where we live.
The Bible said in the book of Apostle Peter chapter 5, verse 7. "Casting all your care upon him, for He careth for you. Can we see the reason?
The reason is saying that you should put your trust in God for all your needs, and pray as much as possible because His interest already is to care about you.
Now, the word "YOU" refers to yourself, myself and to others that could be partakers of the Care which God gives to all of us.
It is not selective and must be shared generously in exchange with other persons.
It is saying that in the same way and manner God does it to you, do likewise to other people.
In the same vein, if people need your care, you should also be interested and attend to them, even when you know they need care without being told to do so by anyone else.
At times, having known on your own accord that some people need care without approaching you, you can go ahead and give them such care.
Therefore, as God is caring for you, take care of other people also, while it still matters that you take care of yourself as the case may be.
I believe that God is not careless about Himself, otherwise,e He won't talk about caring for you and other people.
That is to say as the LORD OUR GOD cares for us, we should have faith in Him to behave ourselves likewise toward one another, judging from the way we can care for ourselves.
In this case, we can identify with God and ourselves, and as it is commanded in the biblical book of Saint Matthew chapter 22 verses 37, 38 & 39, saying in verse 37 "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy mind."
In verse 38 it says: "This is the first and great commandment."
Then verse 39 says: "And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."
The biblical book of Saint John chapter 13 verse 35 says: "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples if ye have love one to another."
It is saying, as OUR LORD cares for us that we should have hope in Him, and behave ourselves likewise toward each other.
It is saying as the LORD OUR GOD takes good care of us we should also take good care of ourselves altogether, in our families, in our working places, in worship places, in schools, in hospitals and in other places that we can render help and services, either in private or in public places.
In the biblical book of the 1st Corinthians chapter 12, verse 25 says: "That there should be no schism in the body; that the members should have the same care one for another."
The Bible is equally saying to us that in the same way that God is treating us with love and care, we should likewise do the same to ourselves.
The Bible is simply telling us to emulate God in caring for each other, in response to the law of kindness towards everyone.
The Bible is not telling us to take good care of God but to love Him back as He does it to us because He is already caring for all of us and need not be helped, but we should also do it for ourselves with total interest.
It is saying that we should follow a good example of God, and implement it likewise for the good of everyone.
The Bible is not saying that a part of any society should be cared for, to the detriment of others around us.
We should avoid falling into the temptation of being group self-centred, and also not be personally selfish.
It is to say that we are generous, not discriminating as to look as if someone doesn't or didn't work, that he or she should not eat.
Let's see what King David said to his soldiers, who went to war in revenge for the invasion and the destruction of Ziklag by the Amalekites.
On return from the war, where he recovered all that was taken away by the invaders of Ziklag, he opted to share out all the spoils generally, but the actors in the war protested against giving to the soldiers, who were forced because of previous tiredness of journey to stay behind.
Reading the biblical report in the book of 1st Samuel chapter 30 verse 24 precisely, King David said to the protesting soldiers that went with him to the revenge war: "For who will hearken unto you in this matter? but as his part is that goeth down to the battle, so shall his part be that tarrieth by the stuff; they shall part alike."
The Bible didn't say that King David shared the spoils of war partially, and neglected the rest of the army personnel. He was generous, not discriminatory.
The Bible didn't or doesn't say to give with one hand and take it away with the other, to justify who is worthy or not because of any reason whatsoever.
I have come to realize that the portion of the bible that said in the biblical book of Ecclesiastes chapter 11 verse 4 says: "He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the cloud shall not reap" was only discouraging laziness.
Let's see the biblical book of Proverbs chapter 20 verse 4, which says: "The sluggard will not plough because of the cold: therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing."
It is referring to the indolent, who refuses or resisted to do the needful at the appropriate time.
1st book of Saint Timothy chapter 5 verse 18 quoted: "For the scripture saith, Thou shall not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn, and the labourer is worthy of his reward."
This one is looking at justice and equity supply, to the ones working very hard in the field.
This is to say that the reapers and the labourers are one in the work, to survive hunger.
This was indicated in the biblical book of Saint John Chapter 4 verse 36 says: "And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal, that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
Nobody can tell me that a child, father, mother, brother, sister, relation, friend, visitor or stranger and any other person, who didn't work for what you can offer them should not eat, if they come to you for help or fn occasion to your house.
If that should be the case, then visitors must work to cook the food in your house, wash the plates or dishes, the cooking utensils, work to buy or bring the entertainment items, work to decorate the dining tables, before they will be qualified to eat and drink in your domain.
Then the Bible will contradict itself where it was seen in the book of the Hebrews chapter 13 verses 1 & 2, with verse 1 saying: "Let brotherly love continue. And verse 2 says: Be not forgetful to entertain strangers; for thereby some have entertained Angels unawares."
On the whole, the only reason God created mankind is to help one another liberally, without prejudice, bias, or partiality.
To God is the glory forever.
