At least, two persons died instantly in an auto crash while in their vehicle heading for the flag-off campaign of the Ebonyi State All Progressives Congress, APC in Izzi Local Government Headquarters, Iboko.
The accident which consumed the lives of a man and woman also recorded scores of injuries among the APC supporters who were in a vehicle heading for the rally.
According to eyewitnesses, who preferred their names not be to mentioned in print, said, the accident occurred at Onuebonyi as a result of careless driving by some drivers chartered for the rally.
"One of the drivers was moving carelessly, but unfortunately for him, he collided with another car in an attempt to overtake another driver without minding his life and the passengers' safety as well," the first eyewitness explained.
"I learnt the victims of the accident had been taken to the hospital, but I'm sure two persons, a man and a woman died instantly. It was a painful experience today," another eyewitness corroborated in anonymity.
