The Osun Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Osogbo has sacked the incumbent governor Ademola Adeleke and declared Adegboyega Oyetola as the lawful winner of the July 16th, 2022 elections, having found ‘proof’ of over-voting.
The tribunal, led by Justice Tetsea Kume, in a rupture document of two to one, declared that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should withdraw the Certificate of Return issued to Adeleke and issue the same to former Governor Oyetola.
There was a large deployment of security operatives across strategic points in Osogbo.
Armed police operatives were observed at the Osun State secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and that of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as well as the state office of the APC presidential campaign in Osogbo. - Politics Today.
