The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), in its efforts at promoting Digital Literacy and Skills of young school girls in the country, has set to organise a maiden edition of the Nigeria Girls Can Code Competition (NGCC) in line with the catch-them-young global initiative.
Our correspondent learnt that the event has been scheduled to hold at the NCC Head Office’s Conference Hall, Maitama, Abuja on Wednesday 1st February 2023.
The event according to the NGCC aims to engage girls in secondary schools across the country to debate innovative ways to address the challenges of food security through the application of fifth-generation (5G) technology.
This is in line with the Federal Government’s policy initiative - Nigeria Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (2020-2030), whose second pillar underscores the importance of the Promotion of Digital Literacy and Skills among Nigerians.
