Ebonyi gubernatorial candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Prophet Dr Chris Adol Awam, Wednesday in Abakaliki officially received the flag of his party and promised to bring a sound economy to the state.
Dr Awam who expressed his readiness to transform his state if emerged victorious in the 11th march gubernatorial election said receiving the flag of his party signified a march to the emancipation of Ebonyi people as a candidate championing God's project.
He further said that his party stands to end poverty in Ebonyi and Nigeria at large, assuring rapid industrialisation of the state if emerged governor in 2023.
"NNPP as a party will change Nigeria through the harvesting of natural resources (minerals) and build industries, rebuild the state University to be an outstanding place to study, build hospitals, seaport, and empower the youth and as well pay workers salaries at due time and stop the habit of migration to other countries in search of greener pasture," Awam assured.
Earlier in his speech during the NNPP mega rally for the South East States, the Presidential Candidate of the party, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwakwanso expressed concern over Nigeria's economic challenges and the conditions of its citizens.
The NNPP President represented by his running mate, Bishop Isaac Idahosa assured his administration of fulfilling his anticipated victory on the 25th February Presidential poll would transform the economy of the country.
He said voting NNPP to power is the only way to bring forth a new and better Nigeria.
The Deputy National Vice Chairman of NNPP, Marshal John Ifemedi who represented his President - Prof Rufa'i Ahmed Alkali, in his opening remarks said the party must be in power as they would stand to fight hunger and most importantly bring the government to the grassroots.
The highlight of the event was the official handing over of the flags to the gubernatorial candidates from the South East States and the National Assembly contestants by the National Chairman of the party.
