Information reaching the NATIONAL PANEL was that the Ebonyi gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Professor Bernard Odoh escaped death on Thursday night when his convoy was attacked by suspected assassins with guns.
A close source said the candidate was returning from Agba in Ishielu LGA of the state, when they run into the ambush at the Rest House area, along the Enugu/Abakaliki expressway.
The gunmen who parked a Sienna bus along the road opened fire on the convoy with particular aim at the candidate’s vehicle which was completely shattered.
Odoh's driver was reportedly killed during the attack while his police orderly and three others sustained bullet wounds.
This is the second major attempt on the life of the APGA candidate after he was attacked in the Izzi Local Government Area, where he was going for the campaign.
