On media appeal for rallying round the incoming government of democracy in Ebonyi State, Lawrence Egede writes.
This write-up is calling for unity and togetherness, love and peace for one another at this end of the elections, with the beginning of the incoming regime of the people of Ebonyi State.
This piece is also a result of what I understood from the public speech of the RT. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru (FON), the Ebonyi State Governor-elect on Wednesday 29th March 2023, after he received his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
He has made open the first copy of his Oath of Office and that's where I am interested in, saying we should rally round the incoming government of the people of Ebonyi State under his watch.
It will be better for the whole people of Ebonyi State to come together right from today and do ourselves justice, by rallying round the new government that will soon be established in the State.
Any politician, or anybody that is not happy with the election of the RT. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, as the incoming Chief Servant of Ebonyi State, should stop grudging against it. He or she should join what God put together in peace and not try to put it asunder.
I am not looking for political appointments at all, but since I am a writer based on watching the events around us, it is in my character to let people know about what I think, what I saw and what is good for everyone.
I am not even looking for such recognition from the incoming Governor, but for the cooperation of everyone to come together in unity, and be part and parcel of the incoming government of the people of Ebonyi State by right.
Personally speaking, I honestly developed a twin interest in the regime and person of Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State, because he is generous and highly exposed to issues.
If I have to demand attention now he is the one I will face and draw close his mind to myself, perhaps on separate issues.
This is because of the past affiliation between us, based on how we have been interacting with each other occasionally.
I am not as rich as he is and he is not as poor as I am, but the truth holds us together on an equal pedestal of friendship.
So, if he is backing anybody who I am sure of, especially as the RT. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru is already our brother from the same Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone, there is no way I can detach myself from his idea of such a person.
So, I am working on how all of us whose heads point to the sky, can see what I see, know what I know and think the same way.
The reason is that by the grace of God, we can unite together with love for each other, and for greater future expectations.
There's no sin in togetherness, especially when it matters a lot to do so for a better purpose.
The Bible said in the book of Psalms chapter 133 verse 1 directing us to "BEHOLD, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity etc."
All the while during the equity campaign for political unity and in as much as truth, justice and fairness are ingredients of love for brethren to be together, I wrote extensively to the elites of Ebonyi State to see the reason for closeness and to consider it right and cooperate for a better purpose.
Other writers and foot soldiers followed suit and now, as God would have it we are here today to celebrate our togetherness and agreement to vote in unity.
We know that some people who were either brainwashed or foolishly stubborn didn't vote as agreed upon, but one with God is a majority product of victory and triumph over all odds.
This is because those who did consider it right has voted for the real subject matter, concerning the case of equity, justice and fairness of the appeal in total victory for the State, and not just for the RT. Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru personally.
So, whatever good thing one embarks upon to do, God will be there to make it prosper and the reward is always with Him.
Now, the matter of peace and harmony in Ebonyi State calls for everybody to be together, and rally round the new regime that will soon come on board.
There is no need to brood over the election matter and bask with rage to go to Court, seeing that Ebonyi State cannot be the example of the past Imo State case at the Supreme Judicial House of hope on probability.
Let us join hands together in brotherhood and if you are an Industrialist, there is a chance for you to invest here and help the government develop the people and the economy successfully.
To God is the glory forever.
