This piece is talking about the generality of the human race in the predicament of nationhood. It is also talking about leadership, but not against leaders anointed by God successively to progress in their Developmental Strides.
If you are a good leader of a people or a bad one, kindly be attentive and listen very well to this matter concerning Nigeria and her questionable political controversies in the world.
It is a matter needing careful tolerance to control because God tolerates so much from the human race for a very long time now.
Most of the leaders may not have the time to read media postings, or they read to spot where they are at times being criticized by the critics.
Some of them don't hear the truth. At times they can only listen, understand and consider what those by the corners can tell them about what they want to take or would like to hear.
When we talk about political feuds in Nigeria it centres on getting the power to rule and decide for people, not just the people deciding and not even the laws deciding anything.
In a situation where neither the people nor the law decides but just a few persons decide for people and as well deciding for the law which is like a helpless problem, the only solution is to be very patient and allow God to decide and give His verdict at last.
So for now, there's no cure, no healing, no solution and no remedy to the problems of the political feuds in Nigeria. That's why it is still seen as nationally questionable about recovery.
The biblical book of the great Prophet Jeremiah chapter 8 verse 22 said: "Is there no balm in Gilead; Is there no physician there? Why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?
Those were the biblical questions thrown to the public for an answer to the stubborn impossibility of finding a remedy to the political, social and economic ill health of a nation, with many unresolved cases of prolonged dirty controversy.
It is like asking where can we get solutions, or get those that can apply them, as to do away with the steady controversial problems in a highly bewitched nation.
The biblical book of the Prophet Jeremiah prophesying before and during the exile of Judah connects other pre-exile prophets, with the inclusion of the Babylonian captivity, the worldwide dispersion; the final regathering, the kingdom age, the day of judgement of the gentile powers and the healing of the patient Remnant in the past, the present and the future generations.
It began with the first message of Jeremiah to the backslidden Judah, to the second message and continued with a follow-up message in the temple gate of the LORD'S house, down to the message on broken covenant, which was all addressed to human beings in existence.
The messages refer to the political leadership, the people and their attitudes that were contrary to the expectations of God. Prophesies are futuristic.
Nigeria is a gentile nation with a political, social and economic predicament lamentable of the failures encountered so far in a world known for controversies, which have not been resolved.
With a load of what I saw as a reference point to that of Prophet Jeremiah, who became a messenger of God to Judah as a politically backslidden nation, the Nigerian factor is inclusive of the predicament of Judah at a time of leadership declension that is affecting the masses from then till today.
Two human species are in the picture concerning Nigeria, first is the old political generation and secondly the younger generation, fighting to lead the nation but there is a hitch now on who will be on top of the ladder above the other, which became a problem that has no remedy.
The question is, where do we go from here when the masses have become the battlefield?
If the old generation should be careful about the future, and the new generation should also be careful about the alright future, it is not yet possible that Nigeria's case has a political resolution now. There's still a backslidden state of life put into action to be nationally resolved by both sides of the human grouping.
The backslidden state in which we find Nigeria is that after all said and done, God is hardly remembered in the political cases that need collective and massive tackling.
The setback is all about the fact that with the old ones still there and the young ones still mixed up, having no place of absolute choice to make than to burgle, bungle and break the covenant just as if they have no mission yet to actualize, then it seems the controversies will continue unresolved till further notice.
This is a very difficult situation to resolve between the two ages still in tight Babylonian captivity, backpedalling on the way forward going to and fro the destination to nowhere yet.
The reasons are involving how to survive the economic crunch first, before talking of politics in a way that the social aspect of life will easily be addressed and money must play a great role.
That's why the comfort of the Babylonian captivity deceives a lot of political actors, to believe that money is everything good for them and they backslide at any point in time, for eccentric reasons based on social gains derivable from the economic stimulus for the beneficiaries.
So for now there's still a very long journey to cover in Nigeria, with the political indiscipline of a backslidden nation like ours in social Babylonian captivity.
That's why the Spirit wakes me up after my quiet time in the early mornings to diagnose Nigeria and her politically ill health, with all the attendant predicaments facing her physical state of life in everything conditioning the present frail look given the caption as highlighted above.
The questions are, Is there no balm in Gilead; Is there no physician there? Why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?
The answer is that there is a political balm not available in Nigeria yet, but there are many leadership physicians not fit to work, so the health of the nation be not recovered and the problems not yet solved in the Babylonian captivity, being the controversy so far in a state of elongated national sickness in the polity.
But if Nigeria takes it easy with her political sickness and treats herself with the balm of enough patience, there will be no problem finding the balm in Gilead to heal and recover her health.
It is not going to be such a healing method by breaking the covenant law binding her and God, even when seeking offices through elections and based on political grounds of making any choice.
Electoral breaking of covenant laws had been ongoing, in the Nigerian political context and contests for a very long time.
There's no first or second, or even many times anyone out of the Candidates in a political contest could be declared a winner in elections, that any will say no because it is incorrect.
They will rejoice over it not minding if the declaration is either by hook or crook and the fact that power is sweet and so alluring in Nigeria will be good news to the winners.
That is to say, even if it will be on account of obscurity, or at the cost of pure transparency that the pronouncement of success goes automatically, authoritatively and very freely there will be no qualms and no arguments about breaking the law.
I will quickly add that we are all guilty of the offence breaking of the law, so if we can acknowledge it as a fact, it the better for us to solve individual or group problems.
So, the breaking of the law is not new in the world, not to talk of Nigeria where it is already clear that political tradition, custom or norm are equally all about the same case of flouting the law.
It appears to me that there is no need for every contending politician who felt cheated to waste mental energy, moral strength, physical health, precious time, material resources and any potentiality by going to the courts of law or even to the tribunals to look for unforeseen credible justice.
This is because the same laws will still be used to overturn the judgements, whether correct or incorrect against the law of any presentable right of legality.
I have discovered that it is only in Nigeria that we can locate some powerful people, who are using the law against the law successfully in everything.
This is just for personal or group justification in the law, by going against the same law of justice which is like breaking a binding covenant law of God.
For an instance, let's look at the hardship inflicted on the masses, with the redesigning of the old Naira notes by law with the Central Bank of Nigeria.
We can also look at the law of the national authorities, which overrides the justiciable law of the Supreme Court of the land.
The conflict has put the public in a very big fix on how to draw their legitimate earnings from the various commercial banks.
It is also by law that the POS agents charge the public ten per cent of any amount of their financial demands against the law, because of the scarcity of adequate funds in circulation.
Is that not a conflict of the law in contrast against the law, with the deliberate contravention of the law against the established law of freedom for the public to claim their legitimate earnings?
Can we see where politics is used as a controversial point to bewitch the populace, who are by law the same people with a sense of belonging to a nation of their undisputable origin?
Can we see that the laws are burgled, bungled and bulldozed against the very existence of the citizens, and their rights to live by the laws of the nation?
It is said worldwide that the law is no respecter of anybody, but in Nigeria, some people are no respecter of the law, for the fact that they are laws alone for themselves above the law and are also immune to the law.
To this irreconcilable extent, I think that the best option is to accept the error as incorrect, but if possible let's go ahead to reconcile issues with tolerance, patience and cooperation and be at peace with one another.
This is to shame some people who are the main architects of controversies every time in the world, as is the case in Nigeria.
To God is the glory forever.
