Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has taken the oath of office to officially assume the role of Governor of the Ebonyi State.
NATIONAL PANEL reports that the solemn ceremony was presided over by the Chief Justice of Ebonyi State, Justice Elvis Anegu Ngene.
“I, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, do solemnly swear that I will not allow my interests to influence my official conduct or decisions… So help me, God," said the 4th Executive Governor of Ebonyi State.
Recall that Governor Nwifuru was sworn in on Monday 29th May 2023 at Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium Abakaliki at exactly 1.22Pm dot after his Deputy, Chief Mrs Patricia Obila by the State Chief Judge.
Also recall that Governor Nwifuru secured the highest number of votes to emerge victorious in the Saturday, March 18 gubernatorial poll in the state, outweighing his closest rivals, Ifeanyi Odii and Ifeanyi Odoh of PDP and APGA respectively.
Nwifuru served as a two-term Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly without a break from 2015 to 2023, when he was democratically elected and sworn in as the 4th Civilian Governor of Ebonyi State.
