A non-governmental organization popularly known as Izhi Tehu Foundation has elected its new leadership to pilot the affairs of the foundation in the next four years.
The election which was held in Abakaliki, saw the emergence of Mr Igwe Christopher Agbo as the National President, while Nkwede Chineme emerged as the National Vice President and Mr Louis Nwebonyi became the National Secretary respectively.

Declaring the result, the chairman of the electoral committee Mr Ezeoke Solomon noted that Mr Igwe Christopher Agbo was elected unopposed with a total of 17 votes cast, describing the exercise as very free, fair and credible.
He advised the new leadership to redouble their efforts by sustaining the core values of the foundation especially in the area of scholarship scheme and human capital development and as well as have a good rapour with the incoming administration in Ebonyi State and enjoined them to maintain unity and peace at all times for the overall interest and development of the foundation.
On his part, the chairman of Board of Trustee BOT Deacon Paul Ugo who expressed satisfaction with the peaceful outcome of the election, expressed optimism that the new leadership would perform creditably based on the capable hands that are involved.
He described them as vibrant and intelligent fellows who have contributed meaningfully to the growth of the foundation, expressing hope that they would do well in all sectors while congratulating them for their emergence and prayed God to give them the grace to deliver on their mandate.
Speaking on behalf of the newly elected executives, the National President of Izhi Tehu Foundation Mr Christopher Agbo who was deeply overwhelmed with joy, applauded members of the foundation for finding them worthy to serve in that capacity. He said their administration in the next four would be historic as they would bring a lot of innovations and reformation towards building the foundation and enhancing the progress and development of the Izhi clan.
The National President who added that the new leadership would not disappoint the foundation but rather strive to justify the confidence reposed on them, hinted that poverty reduction and human capital development would be their top priorities for the success of the foundation.
He further appealed to the BOT and the entire members of the foundation to give the leadership maximum support and cooperation to achieve the aims and objectives.
He noted that the foundation under his watch would ensure a strong and effective collaboration with stakeholders and remain supportive of the policies and programmes of the Government in power and also embrace the sociocultural organizations in the Izhi clan as well as other local and international organizations while vowing to utilize the opportunity given him efficiently to take the foundation to the greater height before the expiration of his tenure of office.
In an interview, the new general secretary Mr Louis Nwebonyi Mgbada pledged to embrace the responsibility given to him seriously towards fulfilling the promises in his manifesto thereby consolidating on the achievements of the outgoing secretary.
He maintained that he would bring in innovations and put up the necessary technology and administrative framework and ensure everybody has a sense of belonging irrespective of their locations all over the world.
He also urged his fellow executives to embrace the responsibility with passion, dedication, accountability, integrity and transparency for a better Izhi clan and humanity in general.
Meanwhile, the new president Mr Igwe Christopher Agbo before his election served as caretaker chairman of the foundation when the former chairman Dr Ezeh Emmanuel Ezeh resigned to pursue his political ambition.
