Lawrence Egede pens down a media plea for political peace in Nigeria.
Let it be known to people who will read this piece that if the kind of politics, power and positions the politicians used were absolutely and adequately equitable to the masses from time, there wouldn't have been political, social, economic, legal and religious wars fought about handling the administrative affairs of the nation, plus the elections of personalities into offices.
No matter how they go about it in playing whatsoever the politics of position-clinching power, the most important thing is to allow peace to reign in Nigeria.
This is because Nigeria needs peace to make progress in her political, social and economic projects of living and to move forward in the development of the country.
Nigeria has been operating under an economic spell when the uncontrollable epidemic spread of the corrupt ways of living by all means available became the order of the day.
Over time it is a pity that the country ran aground, and only very few people are surviving the ugly situation of things.
That's why politics, power and position could be traced to the problems that the country has been facing, including security challenges and corruption.
Playing politics for power, occupying big positions and being in absolute control is the problem Nigeria has acquired over time, which is like having the deadly immune deficiency syndrome.
Immune deficiency syndrome is a disease of reducing natural boosting strength from people, who are facing the scourge and could be acquired by waging political wars against rivals.
Why is it that politics in Nigeria is a tug of war, between how to do the right thing and how to do the wrong thing altogether?
Why is it that seeking any big position in Nigeria through politics is a tug-of-war, between how to do the right thing and how to do the wrong thing?
Why is it that seeking political control power in Nigeria is a tug of war, between how to do the right thing and how to do the wrong thing?
It is clear under such warring situations that anything could be used by all means available, to either achieve the desirable things or things not desirable.
It has given a lot of people the opportunity either to lose by doing the right thing or gain by doing the wrong thing altogether.
It could weigh the nation down in many ways by not having peace to reign between some individuals, or groups of people at war against each other which is politically unfortunate for the masses.
It is caused by playing politics of power and position seeking, to gain self-aggrandizement access to authority and excel over others.
It is now very obvious that politics, power and position altogether are a big problem for the good people of Nigeria.
Playing politics in Nigeria is like trying to be in fellowship with doing the wrong things, but desiring the best things in conflict, as against the right things that are supposed to be done to gain political power.
Having political power in Nigeria is like having everything to oneself, deciding the fate of everyone and dictating the pace everywhere to gain a position of absolute power that corrupts the end users.
Having positions of power in Nigeria is like possessing all aspects of authority and being in charge, to be recognized in the society above all others.
That's why no matter how it is achieved doesn't look wrong to those involved in the struggle to be an advantage. It doesn't look wrong to those in power and positions of authority above all other persons and everything.
*So long as doing the wrong things fetches the golden goals as desired by those in politics, it will be difficult to stop doing the wrong things to achieve them.*
It has become a custom to play politics with bitterness here in Nigeria, which is wrong in all ramifications before God.
Likewise, it has become a big deal to play politics with hatred and discrimination in Nigeria, which is wrong before mankind but it is the only unavoidable successful business venture in Nigeria.
That's why every politician will not be free to allow peace and freedom to reign but still want peace to reign thereafter, which is almost impossible in a wrong practical situation of that kind.
There is no need to put the wrong things. God doesn't pet wrong things. It is only human beings that pet wrongdoings.
God is always emphatic on how he hates wrongdoings, which human beings do each time and have continued in it.
Wrongdoings cause a lot of controversies among people, and that's the bane of society in Nigeria and any place in the world, including religious circles.
The worst of all is that those who dwell in churches, seeing themselves as Christians have got many problems with God, and at times found guilty of doing the wrong things.
The same thing applies to those who call themselves Moslems. They have got many problems with God and are found also guilty of doing the wrong things.
Those that neither belong particularly to any group of Christians nor Muslims are equally in trouble with God for being guilty of doing the wrong things.
Almost every human being at times, is found guilty of doing the wrong things and has also been in trouble before God.
In such a situation, who can boast of being justified before God and mankind who are very sincere to themselves?
That's why the biblical book of the Romans chapter 3 verse 23, 27, and 28 said in verse 23, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" and verse 27 asked three questions there saying; "Where is the boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith." and verse 28 said: "Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law."
It is happening in many places in the world and also in Nigeria, but I am more troubled about it here in the country. The reason is that one's own house should be purged first before any other thing.
Nobody will deny the fact that wrong things are happening in Nigeria on a very regular basis.
Why should we continue in that situation all the time, by offending ourselves and also offending God in the process?
That's why this piece is saying that no matter how the nation's politicians, who are claiming to be right or those denying being wrong do fight wars at the law courts, seeking justification by law or by faith, the major thing is to allow peace to reign in Nigeria first or foremost.
That's just the demand by faith in God for just because the Almighty can dismantle any injustice and install justice, not by the deeds of the secular law but by the law of faith in Him.
Therefore it is better to stop the wars by faith in God, not by the deeds of the secular law.
It is better now to crash and crush the cases, especially the Presidential election matters in the mundane law courts.
This is to allow peace to reign in Nigeria by the law of faith in God. The power to either justify or not justify people belongs to God.
It is not a big deal for God to work on matters related to persons having controversial political cases inside or outside the law courts.
To God is the glory forever.
