The NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs Bamai Mercy Dawuda, who made this known during the passing out ceremony of the outgoing Corps members Thursday in Abakaliki, said they were comprised of 285 males and 620 females.
Mrs Bamai also disclosed that 11 Corps members of the 2022 Batch 'B' Stream '1' would be having an extension of service; whereas, 5 of them were to repeat service for various offences including absenteeism.
She cautioned the exit Corps members alongside those who are still in their service against exposing themselves to danger, stressing that individuals should be security conscious to avoid jeopardizing their lives nowadays.
The Coordinator further advised them to be truthful in life, while enunciating the recent occurrence which was wrongly associated with the serving Corps member(s) in the State.
Her Words: "I want you to be truthful in life, we got a report that a Corp Member was shot in front of Winners Lodge, and immediately I called the commanding officer. I called the Commissioner of police, and I told them to take me to the hospital, but I was told that before we got to the hospital, he gave up.
"The story was that he was outside the gate of the lodge making calls and he was shot in the chest. Our findings revealed that he is not our Corp member, his uncle confirmed to us that he was a dental technologist and that he did well and was retained in Abia, Maybe they don't know what he is into.
"This is a lesson to all, wherever you find yourself, ensure that you do not expose yourself to dangers and always say the truth because if he was a member of the church and the church provided a lodge for their Corp members, they wouldn't have refused him staying there.
"But the uncle told us that because he was a medical personnel and in the church, they went out providing services, the truth is we don't even know exactly.
"Always say the truth, and that was why I understood why he had to go outside the gate and make calls; because I was wondering what he was hiding. Be truthful, do not hide things from people close to you, the papa of the house didn't know that was not a Corp member, most of the people there, or even all of them don't know."
