According to the Hillmat, for some days now, the battle for the presidency seat of the National Assembly has been a critical matter between the varied geo-political zones we have now in the nation.
In line with the senators that had been elected from the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria, they claimed that it was their flip to be the Senate president because they weren’t given the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
However, in a new development, it was reported that the president-elect of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu and some other people at his residence in Abuja last week Friday, endorsed the former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio, who is from the South-South zone as the next president of the National Assembly.
Due to this development, Senator Shehu Sani, who happens to be the former senator representing the Kaduna Central Senatorial District, reacted to this development on his official Twitter handle, as he claimed that the politicians from the South-East, who joined the All Progressives Congress, either through the window or through the door, are not trusted with Leadership positions.
He said, “It is becoming clear that those from the southeast who entered the ruling party through the window and those who entered through the door are both not trusted for leadership.
