An Anambra industrialist based in Lagos, Chief Lawrence Chinweuwa has called on the people of Ebonyi State and beyond to eschew all forms of division and ethnic cleavages by embracing peace and unity in every engagement.
Chinweuwa -the Onwa Igbariam, Okala-Akwu, Nwanedinamba 'I' of the Izhi Clan of Ebonyi State emphasized the need for a collaborative effort by the citizens of the state, to see Governor Francis Nwifuru delivers the democratic dividends to them.
The Group Managing Director, Emmanuella Autor-Motors Ltd made the call in Abakaliki while interacting with journalists shortly after the inauguration of Ebonyi State governor, Francis Nwifuru.
The former Special Adviser to the Ex-Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State described Governor Nwifuru as an experienced and grassroots oriented politician who has no other job than to practically respond to the needs and aspirations of the electorate.
The Lagos and Abuja-based business mogul implored those who feel aggrieved to swallow the shame they might have caused to themselves as a sacrifice for a new Ebonyi State and get closer to the new administration under the able leadership of Governor Francis Nwifuru and work collaboratively with him to consolidate on his anticipated selfless leadership for the benefit of the entire Ebonyi citizenry.
Chief Chinweuwa advised the 2023 Ebonyi Governorship candidates who contested and lost but are in court to withdraw their suits against Governor Nwifuru.
He stressed that there are times when it's more honourable to quit a race with one's reputation intact than to down all consequences and remain in the race with a tarnished reputation.
He further maintained that conflict is inevitable in human engagement, that even in a matrimonial home, couples sometimes disagree in principle and address the challenges to agree again; for the home to become homely.
"So politics should be seen and viewed as a game and not a contest," Chineuwa opined.
He condemned in its entirety the lack of love displayed by some non-natives resident in Ebonyi toward the governorship candidate provided by the Izhi extraction in the March 18 gubernatorial poll, saying that the Izhi people are the most peaceful, loving and accommodating and deserved all manner of support from the Pilgrims who reside in the State.
Chief Chinweuwa also applauded the unalloyed support of the political leaders of Ebonyi State for their wonderful roles which culminated the success story being narrated by all in the State.
