Following the global event of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Day Dialogue 2023, Ebonyi entrepreneurs have urged the Federal and State governments to establish a viable and unrestricted business clinic with the mandate to boost MSMEs in Nigerian states.
The State Artisans President, Ambassador Pastor Nwaze Friday Eze, made this request on Tuesday while interacting with newsmen in Abakaliki.
According to him, giving market access the centre stage by the new administration would help to resolve the MSMEs' complaints and standardize their businesses across the country.
He described the World MSMEs Day Dialogue 2023 as a global event which takes place every June 27 to celebrate the contributions of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to economic growth, job creation, poverty reduction, and innovation.
Nwaze advised the Federal government to provide a conducive business environment to enable businesses to flourish in every part of the country.
He upheld that MSMEs remain the nerve of any vibrant economy, and further advised the new government to think towards collaborating with entrepreneurial development agencies to boost the capacity of small business operators on good market penetration.
Nwaze, who is also the Chairman of the African Association for SMEs, Ebonyi State Chapter and member of Nigeria Diaspora in Cameroun, maintained that
such collaborations would assist greatly in proffering solutions to some of the challenges limiting small businesses to expand their operations.
"Giving market access to the MSMEs by the government in power will facilitate business linkage and partnership with African countries and beyond, and also on the African Continental Free Trade Area opportunities.
"Market access, which is the freedom to enter a market and sell goods or services, remains one of the greatest challenges facing MSMEs," he emphasized.
Nwaze commended the effort made so far by the President of AAME in Nigeria, Amb. Darlington Onuoha Kalu towards economic development of the country.
