Ebonyi indigenes in Kuwait have blasted one Ambassador Paschal Oluchukwu, whom they described as the self-proclaimed President of a faceless group known as the Association of Ebonyi Indigenes Socio-Cultural in Diaspora, AEISCID for attacking Governor Francis Nwifuru few days of his resumption of office.
Governor Nwifuru was sworn in as the fourth Executive Governor of Ebonyi State on Monday, 29th May 2023 but the said AEISCID President, Paschal Oluchukwu had issued a press release against the state governor, asking him to resign if he cannot take full charge of his office.
The AEISCID leader noted that the new Ebonyi governor has not been able to appoint his cabinet members after his inauguration and described the alleged delay as his ineptitude disposition in leadership precepts as the Chief Servant of the State.
He warned Nwifuru not to play the scripts of his predecessor, former Governor David Umahi whom he petitioned the anti-graft agencies to probe his administration with several degrees of allegations against the duo.
But the Ebonyi indigenes in Kuwait have distanced themselves from the press release issued by the AEISCID President and declared his support for Governor Nwifuru's government.
This was contained in a press release signed by the Chairman of Ebonyians Living in Kuwait, Luke Anike and their Secretary, Onyidikechi Kingdom which was forwarded to our correspondent at the weekend.
The Ebonyians Living in Kuwait called on 'Ambassador Pascal Oluckuwu to within 72 hours back up his bogus claims with pictures or videos, if not he would risk press charges against him as a signatory to such frivolous press release.'
The press read in parts: "The attention of Ebonyi people living in Kuwait has been drawn to a Press Release allegedly credited to the self-acclaimed President of a faceless group called a diaspora group, Association of Ebonyi Indigenes Socio-Cultural in the Diaspora (AEISCID), administered by one Ambassador Pascal Oluchuwku," wherein he raised bogus claims about Ebonyi State government that is barely one month in Office.
"Ebonyians in Kuwait wish to use this medium to distance themselves from the activities of Ambassador Pascal Oluckuwu and the so-called Press Release, and that of the faceless group that is seeking nothing but mere attention from Governor Francis Nwifuru.
"We would have been surprised if at the end of Governor Francis Nwifuru's administration Ambassador Pascal Oluchukwu did not allege anything as it has been his stock in trade.
"It is important to state that Governor Francis Nwifuru is not only in charge of his government but has the support and love of the entire people of the state who have absolute confidence in his ability to deliver on his campaign promises to Ebonyi people.
"Ebonyians in Kuwait hereby call on Ambassador Pascal Oluckuwu to within 72 hours back up his bogus claims with pictures or videos or we will press charges against him as a signatory to Press Release.
"Finally, we also call on Governor Francis Nwifuru to remain focused and take his time to assemble professionals in various fields to help him drive down his policies and programs and shun being stampeded by Ambassador Pascal Oluchuwku or any faceless group which is capable of making the Governor rush into hasty appointments just to favour him and his family he called "Association of Ebonyi Indigenes Socio-Cultural in the Diaspora (AEISCID)."
